What are the chances of getting a CRT dinner as a walk up?

I know most restaurants will take walk ups, it would just depend on how willing you are to wait. I do also know that some places just can't fit in walk ups (like how Le Cellier is and Ohana oftentimes), so is CRT like that as well? My friend didn't make her dining reservations and she is going towards the end of Sept and wanted to get CRT for a late dinner (like 8:00p) but of course everything is booked! We are going to keep trying of course online, but what are the chances of her being able to walk up around 7:30is and hope to get seated? Thanks!!

like winning the lottery? ;) I don't think they are that great because it is so popular and it is a pre-paid meal. Anyone who is a no show will risk losing $$$ and quite a bit at that too. I would keep checking and especially look 48 hrs ahead. That will be the cut off for canceling.

Keep checking for ressies, my bff got a CRT ressie today late October. Not sure which meal, but she checked daily!

Darn!! That's what I thought...oh well. We will keep trying online!!! I know there is pixie dust somewhere! Thanks for the responses all!

Chances are slim to none as others have said. I will say that DH and I were able to get a walk-up dinner ressie one time due to a cancellation....so there is a possibility...but it's really small. Can't hurt to try if you aren't able to get anything online. Best of luck!!!

slim to none!

Slim to none and Slim just left town!:rotfl::rotfl: Keep trying online, but once you get down there I'd say your chances are about nil. Since you have to give your credit card as a guarantee you're going to show up, very few people would not show up, plus it's during the free dining time.

I agree with others that your chances are slim to none. I'd keep checking, especially around the point that people need to cancel or have their CC charged for not showing.

We went to CRT in January, which was a pretty slow time of year. So slow that we were able to walk into LeCellier for lunch one day at Epcot.

Anyway, we were there 15 minutes before our reservation time, and we were sent away and told to come back 10 minutes before our reservation time.

When you see about 300 strollers parked outside there is no chance and that is also a good indication of why you should just skip it in the first place.

Don't give up. Mind you, I'm more of a book at 180 and keep changing my mind until we leave kind of person, but I stalk the website whenever we've got a trip coming up and I see a bit of everything in high demand show up in my searches here and there. In fact, for our trip next month, there has been constant availability at CRT.

Have you tried searching by just dinner vs. a specific time? I just tried it for a random date in October and got several openings at odd hours.

Quite a number of years ago (found the photos... it was 2005), we were able to make a reservation for dinner that morning for CRT at the park. But, this was a slow, early November day and I don't think they did free dining back then. Looking at the pictures, we must have got an 8:00pm reservation. I remember it was late, because we were eating when the fireworks started. LOTS of rumbling in the restaurant, and the windows would light up, but you couldn't see anything out of the stained glass. The food must have been better back then, don't remember what anyone had, but we all enjoyed our meals.
