What are the chances of getting a 2 bedroom Villa @ BLT?

We were hoping for late November through early December so hopefully that will help us out.

Be aware that does not improve the situation. December in general is a very high DVC demand period, and the first week of December is THE highest DVC demand week of the year. And November is also a very DVC demand time for most of the month including the end days.

I think that you need to take a look at this thread. I don't think that you have realistic expectations when it comes to VGF. Studios at VGF are hard to book most of the year but they are extremely tough for even VGF owners to snag during late Nov. - all of Dec. bobbiwoz owns at VGF and can't even book a studio there for themselves in December. If the brokers won't even try to line up an owner until the day that the booking window opens (or at best, the day prior), then you are already at a disadvantage if you work through one of them.

You could get lucky but while you're seeking those 2 studios at VGF, you may miss out on the opportunity to book the 2-bedroom at BLT that you consider to be your back-up. Keep in mind that only those with points at either of those resorts can book their home resort at 11 months out. If you go with a private rental, having a BLT owner lined up won't help with getting two studios at VGF and conversely, having a VGF owner lined up won't help you with booking a 2-bedroom at BLT.

Frankly, I'm not sure a VGF owner would commit to trying to rent 2 studios even at 11 months for late November-early December for someone, knowing that the person needed 2. VGF studios are hard. That period is hard. And when booking, we can't see how many are available.

Thanks for the input. I understand that renting two rooms is unrealistic that is why I asked the question about BLT. This is our first time even trying to rent DVC and I didn't realize the beginning of December was so popular. I think we will take our chances and try to rent and if all else fails just book with Disney for a moderate resort.

If you have an owner lined up to book at 11 month then I don't think you'll have an issue with a lakeview 2BR. If it's the standard view you are looking for that will be less certain although always a possibility.

You need to know that studios do not connect (except at the Poly). So you'll need that two bedroom unless you are putting adults in each room.

You would need 2 regular moderate rooms for a family of 6. Or you can stay in a junior suite at CSR. If the junior suite is your backup plan, it might be a good idea to make your room reservation with Disney now. Yes, I know that it's more than a year in advance but those junior suites aren't plentiful. There are 31 of them, about half of which only accommodate 4 because they have a king bed instead of 2 queens in the bedroom. If the DVC villa reservation materializes, then you can cancel the suite and get a refund. But booking the suite now will guarantee you one of the room types that you're seeking.

That is exactly what our backup hotel is. Thank you for the recommendation. I was wondering if I should book it or wait. From what I've read I will get 100% refund correct? Do you think I should book a package like I would of dvc doesn't work for us or just hotel and add tickets/dining later?
