We booked conceirge garden view, any chance at end of August of upgrade to Water view or do you think I should upgrade myself, is it worth the $50.00 a night? I'm not sure as we will be at the parks most of the day but at the resort from 8:00 on most nights as the 2 kids ages 7 & 10 are usually really tired by 9:00 and in bed.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Shelby

we had a water view, YC concierge- i don't recall looking out that much...
i really don't think the view matters, but it's a question of how much you're willing to pay...

if it is important to you, you should upgrade in advance....you might get it without the upgrade, but you can't bank on that...

We had a water view at the Yacht Club in May and it was great. We had coffee on the balcony every morning so for us it was worth it but if you don't use the balcony or look out the window a great deal, I can understand why it wouldn't be worth the extra cost.

Make sure you use the pre-planning office if you need to make reservations for anything... ask for Alana, she is one of the best Disney has and really did a GREAT! job for us

Good Luck

It's my understanding that a water view room does not have a daybed and can only accomodate 4. Is this correct? If so, the daybed may be better than the view since there would be more sleeping space.

As long as you have at least a garden view, I think you'll be okay (no parking lot or convention center roof view). We had a concierge standard view this past December. It wasn't really important to us because we knew that we'd be spending time in the parks and it was a short vacation. Some of the garden views are very nice, especially those overlooking the Wedding Gazebo. You can request one of these with IPO. If you really want a water view though, I would upgrade now and not depend on that happening at check in. We were there during a fairly quiet week and didn't receive one.

Nope, that's not correct. There are water view rooms that accommodate 5.
