What do you mean by good websites...what sort of holiday are you after?? Package / Flydrive / Flight only plus hotel/villa..???


I'd be happy to supply any help I can if you give me an idea...and I'm sure you'll get loads from other DIS'ers too.

I've been doing some surfing recently.

Expedia is always worth checking.

TCD has just upgraded their web site so you can see prices etc and book on line. Functionality is OK, but I've found the prices to be astronomical compared to Exedia.

For example:

2 AD 2 CH Aug 2004 14 nights. Hotel, flight and car from Manchester

TCD between £3500 and £5000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expedia £2500

Behave!!!!!

We have booked to go on 31 aug 2004 2 adults and 2 children staying at the clarion hotel on int drive and using the hotels free transport for 2 weeks, altogether costing £2000 with mytravel book online and save 15%.

For checking flight prices I like www.ebookers.com and for hotels in US I sometimes use www.180096hotel.com (which is Hotels Reservations Network - one of the biggies) as a guide and occasionally book with them too if they are much cheaper than hotel's own website.


Worth keeping an eye on, depending on where you like to stay, are www.hilton.com - because they own Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn, Doubletree etc. www.marriott.com - they own Fairfield, Courtyard etc. and www.ichotelsgroup.com - they own Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza.


The advantage of booking with hotel's own website is that you can often get a AAA discount (for AA members) and it is easy to cancel and rebook if you see a better offer elsewhere - sometimes even on their own websites at a later date.
