Last year we spend one day at Busch Gardens Tampa. That day was horrible. It was so hot and unlike Disney, every line and show was outside except 1.

At Sea World, what are the ways you keep cool so you don't end up feeling like your melting the entire day?

Are there any splash area's with water or mister's?

I do remember that the penguin attraction was indoors.

How many indoor rides are there?

How hot are the outdoor shows? This year it was so hot at the Stunt show at MGM.

Hah. I noticed quite a lot of fanning action as I was watching Blue Horizon on Saturday afternoon. Those park maps do come in handy.

There are splash areas, there is one by the Pets Ahoy show as well as one in Shamu's Happy Harbor. If there is MORE, I never paid attention to them. BTW. Shamu's Happy Harbor has a few places to get wet. They opened a new section recently that has buckets filling up with water (above your head) and they drop down on your. There is a boat that has some water activities on it and a water baloon tossing area.

You can also hang around near the gift shop area of Journey to Atlantis. Go towards the gift shop and make a left and hang around near the drop area for the boats. I haven't seen that splash area being used for a while, but you can get sprayed from the boats as they drop in to the water.

There are misters at the Penguin attraction and in the Key West area near the turtles. Again, if there is more of those, I never paid attention.

The only indoor 'ride' would be Wild Artic. It is nice and cold in there.

If you don't sit in the sun at the shows, it makes it a little easier to take the heat. Drink plenty of cold water, you can get free cups of ice at the beverage stations and take breaks as needed.

Really?

Its hotter than hades in Florida in the summer? :sunny:

I did not know that.

Thank you so much for sharing that important piece of information. :rotfl2:

There are spash areas in the front row of every stadium show. :rotfl: Or sit in the front row at Atlantis. Some misters the kids of all ages like to get wet on at Key West and in front of the Odessy Theater. A water squirts up from the sidewalk thing over at the waterfront and at Atlantis.

Pretty much every major attraction and the walk between is outdoors.

Unfortunately, not so much indoors. Penguins, sharks, Pets Ahoy show, Odessy theater, Atlantis aquarium about the only cool places. A few gift shops and restaurants to duck into for a little AC. Wild Artic is nice and COLD after the ride, but the line is outside.

The best way to have a comfortable trip on July 15 is to go on November 15. :lmao:

I guess I'm not sure I understand your sarcasm I do know how hot it is in Florida and I'm aware that other people are too. In fact we just got back from WDW on 8/13/06 and it was our second summer trip in two years. Maybe your sarcasm isn't even directed at me.........it's hard to tell in posts, and maybe I misunderstood.

Since I haven't been to SW since 1995. It was hot then too (Sept 95) I was hoping to have people share their tricks for staying cool there. I know that how you tour parks at WDW during the heat makes all the difference in your enjoyment. Busch is not the best at creating amusement parks with heat in mind. It's not bad when your in Williamsburg Va, but when we were in Tampa last year I had a hard time with only one indoor attraction. I do remember there being a few things indoors last time at SW.

As far as the shows being hot. The ones that are outdoors are not all created equall. Even at Disney it depends on the theatre. The stunt show at MGM was probably the worst and it's the newest theatre. Some theatres even though they are outdoors do a good job of keeping you shaded with just the right amount of fans.

I was just hoping to get some perspectives from other people who have been in the summer. My intention for our trip to SW next summer (during our two week trip) is to know ahead of time what shows/exhibits/rides will cool us off and then supplement that stops into gift shops.

Thanks for the information that was provided.

We were at SW this July, and it was alot of fun, but it was also the hottest I've been in a while at a park (and I live in Fl)! Our plan was to go to SW in the A.M. (which was great), then go back to the hotel and swim in the afternoon (which was great), then go back to SW in the evening after dinner. This seemed to work out very well for our family.
