It seems that National is starting to come down. What are the best codes everyone is using right now? I used vacation outlet and entertainment book coupon for EA for 8 days for Feb 25 - March 5 for $216.

We needed to switch our ressie to a minivan for next week and President's Week. (More family coming).

The best combinations I found were using the entertainment codes for coupon and contract ids and the WWEB product code on their website.

It gave me a price of $437 for 12 days a minivan. All the other sites were way over $500 and some were even up to $900!!!!! Insane! This is the most I've EVER paid for a rental car but for this year I think the rate is ok. If anyone knows how to lower it, I'd LOVE to hear from you. Our dates are Feb. 14-25th. I had a full size for $298 and it just won't hold all of us. But...at least I did EA and don't have to wait in a line.

Best of luck to you!

National (EA) was the best rate I could come up with, 6 days over Presidents for $127.
I used Am. Express code 5125601 and the Ent. coupon $20.

Can you post the link for the Enterainment Coupon?

Thanks and have a nice day!

Same codes I used for an intermediate...March 2-March 7. $126 Total. A compact would be about $11 less but I like the adventure of what may be on the Isle..

You have to buy the entertainment book to get the coupon. You can type in the coupon # to reserve, but you have to present the coupon when picking up the car. I think mousesavers.com has a deal right now with purchasing the book.

Do you have to use your American Express card to get that rate?

from Mousesavers.com:

Contract ID 5125601 often produces some excellent rates. It originally comes from an American Express promotion of some kind, so you must have an American Express card with you when you pick up the car (though it doesn't appear that you actually have to use the AmEx card when renting).

I use my Delta AMEX for just about everything, so this works for me.

My recent experience is that (for the first time in a long time) the American Express ID 5125601 works better than the Priceless ID.

Looks like I'm getting the best rate with AMEX also, $4 cheaper than the vacation outlet code.

I never use my Am. Ex. for the rentals but always carry it with me.

Just an FYI that we used the AmEx code for our last rental (2/04) and they did ask for the card......I would be sure to have it just in case....

You didn't have to charge to that card, did you? DH has one in his name, but it is for work, and he is NOT supposed to charge on it other than work related expenses. We'll be happy to carry it and show it, but we don't want to charge on it.

You don't have to charge it to Amex to use the code. At least that's been my experience. I've presented my card at checkout to prove I had one and then when I returned the card to EA, my visa was in my profile so that's the card that was charged.
