And will they go away on their own?

I am 99.9% sure I have one :( and want to know if it will go away on it's own and what are the symptoms? I do NOT have time to go to the Dr, so I have to do what I need to do to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

I had one many, many years ago.. Symptoms were feeling sick to my stomach and a terrible burning/gnawing sensation that would go away temporarily if I had something bland to eat or drink.. Back then they treated it with a bland diet, but I believe I recently read that many stomach ulcers are caused by a bug of some sort and a short period of medication with resolve it..

Still to this day I can't take any products that contain aspirin - can't drink most juices - and can't eat my favorite pie, blueberry.. All those things just KILL my stomach! :(

My brother was recently diagnosed with one - his symptoms were

Severe burning sensation in his stomach
Naseau
Cant get comfortable- feels like a huge ball in your stomach

It was so bad, that he actually took a day off work the week of christmas- and he's a UPS driver!

He's on a bland diet and some pill, I'll find out what it is if you want

Brandy

Some stomach ulcers are caused by a bacteria. I can not remember what it was called. I had to take an antibiotic for several weeks to get it to go away. I now take Prilosect OTC because of having reflux as well. This controls the acid in your stomach.
I am not sure if they will go away by themselves. The Dr told me that if it was left untreated that it could cause other medical problems as well as damage the lining of stomach, etc. I did have to follow a diet, and still do to some degree. Just common sense things like no spicy foods, no caffeine, no alcohol, and for me no dairy. I would probably try Tagament, Prilosect OTC, or Pepsid, and see if this helps with your sympoms if they are not really bad. If you have alot of symptoms, and in pain, I would go ahead and see Dr just to make sure that you do not have anything else going on causing these symptoms.

Well, I get sick with EVERYTHING I eat, the spicier, the sicker.... I have pain though, like someone cutting through me from the inside out on the right side? And my stomach feels sunburnt! That is about all I have.

That sounds like a gallbladder attack, not an ulcer.

I am definitely not a Dr, but to me this sounds more like a poss Gallbladder problem.
If you have gallstones, an attack can be brought on by food, stress, or just the position of the gallstone. Gallbladder pain usually starts on the right side, and wraps around the right side towards your back. May even give you a feeling of chest pain, and burning, nauseous feeling, or actual vomiting. If your symptoms are this severe, I would most definitely go in and see the Dr. Your life is too special to take a chance!
Look at the bright side, at least you would know for sure what you have, and they can probably give you something to make you feel much better! Let us know how you feel, and what you decide to do.

THAT'S IT!!!! The wrapping around to the back and such!!!! Yup! Well, I am off next Wed, might have to make an appt.

My sister had a gallstone get stuck in her bile duct. She ended up in the ICU with pancreatitis. It was really serious. If it's your gallbladder, get it yanked outta there!

I started having gall issues 2 years ago. Had Ultra Sounds looking for stones and none showed up. Had to have a function test that showed it is only functioning SOMETIMES! Dr said I didn't need to have it out yet so I said "ok" and never looked back. Guess I should be looking back huh?

You are braver than my husband was. He was so hard headed about going to the doctor a couple of days after his first attack he had severe pains. We are talking a flying trip 32 miles to the nearest ER. He was sweating, and miserable with pain he says he has never felt before in his life. Don't wait too long, he says he would go pronto if it were him. He turned green just now when I asked him what he thought.
He sends his sympathies! Maybe you could get an appointment before/after work. The did a CT scan, and diagnosed him pretty quickly. Gave him medicine to take, and went back a week later to have his gallbladder removed. This is day surgery now, and he was out of work for approx one week. No heavy lifting for two/three weeks.

My uncle had "sand" in his gallbladder. It didn't really show up on the ultrasound but the doctor said it was full of little tiny stones that looked like sand. I only had one stone show up on ultrasound but due to my sister's history I had it taken out.

I have a VERY high pain tolerance, as in labor was a breeze :)

So if I have something severe? I wouldn't know it....

Definitely could be your gallbladder...but I just wanted to add, I have stomach ulcers and my symptoms presented as horrible PAIN, no burning, no heartburny (new word, lol) feeling...just horrible sharp stomach pain. My doctor was convinced it was my gallbladder but nope, it was ulcers. Easy to diagnose by ultrasound (gallbladder) and/or endoscopy (ulcers).

Whatever it is, I hope you feel better soon!
