What are some "must pack" items for traveling to Disneyland and the beach w/3 yo.

For DL it depends on your child. I have a three year old as well and this is what we always bring when we go to the park. I am a light packer, hate to carry around any extra weight.

-Snacks
-Water (we bring a flavor drink packet too, like Crystal light) Just in case all they offer somewhere is soda.
-Extra underware in case - he is potty trained but I guess you never know
-Hat and sunglasses (I don't bring sunscreen with me, I put it on before we leave the hotel)
-Baby wipes!!! (the best to have when cleaning up after a meal)
-Writing pin and souvenior book
-Sweatshirt or light jacket just in case (but it really depends on the weather)

If you are asking what to pack and bring on your trip to DL, I guess it would depend on how long you are staying. Bring you essentisals, tooth brush, body wash, clothes... If you can be a little more specific I can try to help answer :)

A change of clothes! We went when ds was 3 1/2. He has been potty trained over 6 months. He would get excited in line and wet his pants. Didnt matter how often we took him potty. It about drove us crazy! I think it happened about 4 times in 5 days.

Well for the parks, the basket of my stroller holds -

Sunscreen
Hat (if needed)
Sweatshirt
Baby wipes / Diapers if needed
Bottled Waters
Capri -suns
Some snacks
I don't really bring an extra outfit for my 3 year old since our hotel is so close, I would just go back if needed. (My 3 year old is not a spiller like my older one was!) I do bring an extra outfit for my infant and have used it almost every time!!

For the beach, we also bring towels, shovels, sand toys, buckets, swimsuits/swim diapers if warm enough, sunscreen, and snacks/drinks.

When we went last September I went with a friend and her kids, no DH's. It was a hoot for us all to park and walk to the beach with a 5, 4, 4, 3, 2 and 10 month old with all that x 6!!

Sunscreen is important because California can trick you , it may be overcast but the rays will still burn you!

I have a six year old, three year old, and two year old.

I put a soft sided cooler in the bottom of the stroller, with ice, water bottles, snacks, etc.

Small first aid kit with antiseptic wipes, bandaids, etc. (though they do have first aid stations at that park).

Diapers and wipes (and I use wipes for all sort of things besides diaper changes. Cleaning faces and hands after eating, wiping off the stroller, cleaning off the tables before and after we eat...messy kids and all that.).

Sunscreen.

Change of clothes for each kid because they WILL get wet, several times over the course of the day, especially at DCA (bug's land).
