What are some interesting things to do at AKL Jambo that you have enjoyed and experienced?

Kidani and probably Jambo (though I haven't seen it 1st hand) have a nighttime Smores/Marshmallow roast nightly, I think 8pm, behind the pool, by the parking garage at Kidani.
Our little kids and big kids for that matter enjoyed it. I think the marshmallows are free but they charge for the chocolate & graham crackers.

Hi, I would like the marshmallow roast and campfire and I'll be at AKL June 17-21 and Pop June 22.

I just obtained availability to make my Fast Pass' today. I found some availability that was new to me. I also made changes to some of my AK Boma dining reservations to accommodate some of the Fast Pass'.

When I arrived at AKL Jambo, I was just going to look around and explore AKL until dinner that night. But then I thought that while I was waiting for my room that I would travel to the AK park and activate my annual pass.

I also made a Fast Pass for the AK park's Rivers of Light 8:35 PM - 9:00 PM for after dinner that night. I have never been to this before.

I was surprised how the Avatar Flight of Passage 3:50 PM - 4:50 PM was not available until five days later on Thursday and this was the earliest time.

On My Disney Experience, I was able to sign up for AKL Jiko's 3:00pm Wine Tasting (Wed) $25.00 — Jiko-The Cooking Place , 1 Adults ages 10 and older x $25.00. $25.00 + Tax $1.63 + Gratuity $4.50 + Total $31.13. The gratuity and tax were automatically added in the total price.

I also made some other Fast Passes for later, too. But I need to make a better plan while I am at Pop Century resort. I haven't been in so long that I need to think about my plans.

I was able to make some Toy Story Fast Pass+, too.

I will have to call to make reservations for the AKL safari.

It took almost an hour going through DVC Member Services with no luck, and then WDW service with no luck, so keep trying. Someone finally transferred me to WDW AKL, and I was able to make reservations for Wanyama Safari. It cost a total of $209.00 that included tax and gratuity. Since it was done by phone with no online and no email, I didn't get a breakdown of costs.

I was lucky to get a reservation on my birthday, June 19th.

I was also able to use the same phone AKL cast member to obtain a Starlight Safari for Thursday night at 830pm. They didn't have the 10pm availability. I was able to change my dinner reservation to an earlier time before the Starlight Safari starts since I couldn't get the 10pm. The total cost was $79.00 that includes the tax and gratuity. As before, no email and I didn't get a breakdown of costs.

I am just happy that I got those reservations, too.

My only AK park fast pass+ Avatar Flight of Passage 3:50 PM - 4:50 PM for the same Thursday couldn't be changed because there was no availability the rest of the day. I wanted to move it earlier. When I made this reservation it was already the earliest time.

I was able to move my dinner from 2005 to 1505 to 1545, so maybe I'll have time to get from AKL to Bomo to the 2030 safari.

There must be tons of people make their 60-day Fast Pass+ in June 2018.

I know that it is not part of AKL, but I was also able to get a DVC MK Fireworks Cruise for Wednesday that week.

Both the cruise and starlight safari does not show up on the WDW reservations, but they give you reservation numbers.

The Wanyama Safari show up on the WDW Dining reservations since it includes a dinner at AKL Jiko.

Well...you're not going to believe this, but I really splurged on my Birthday/Retirement vacation while staying at AKL.

I made my final reservation at 7:00am–10:30am Sense of Africa. I did get a 15% DVC discount on this one. And it will be on my birthday June 19th.

7:00am–10:30am Sense of Africa (Tue & Sat) — Jambo House-Sunset Lounge h Sense of Africa is an intimate, 3.5-hour program that allows an insider’s look at the sensory experiences unique to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Your journey begins with a unique breakfast at Boma – Flavors of Africa. The adventure continues as you board a private safari vehicle with the Animal Care team, who will lead you through a series of up-close, behind the scenes encounters with some of the savanna’s most beloved animals. For reservations, call 407-WDW-PLAY (407-939-7529) or visit the Concierge desk. (Ages 10 and above).

I think that I am done for now.

Sunday, Check-in to AKL, Boma dinner and AK park to see Rivers of Light.
Monday, Dining and AKL activities.
Tuesday, 7:00am–10:30am Sense of Africa and 3:30pm Wanyama Safari.
Wednesday, Dining and 3:00pm Wine Tasting and Special Magic Kingdom Fireworks Cruise.
Thursday, Dining and Avatar Flight of Passage-3:50 PM-4:50 PM and 8:30pm Starlight Safari.

I have made other dining reservations and I will plan on doing the AKL Jambo and Kidani activities during my stay.

Thank you everyone for all of your advise.

I forgot something else enjoyable some people aren’t familiar with-“Lunch with an Animal Keeper” at Sanaa. It’s limited to 14 or so and served in a separate area at Sanaa. It’s hosted by an animal keeper of the resort Savannah animals. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions and learn about the individual animals they have. Also, the head chef comes out and explains each course, each course consists of 3 samples of offerings from the menu. And there’s the bread service.

I second this! I have done it 4 times, and would happily do it again!

Wow! You're even more of a fanatic than me-I've done it 3 times and would love to do it again. And honestly, I think it's relative very inexpensive, for Disney.
