What are our chances for FD for these dates?

Due to last minute budget issues :( we may have to postpone our Spring Break trip with FD from March 24-29 until Oct. 6-12.

What are our chances for FD for these dates & typically when are the fall dates announced?

There are many "pros" to postponing until October, the only "con" is that my mind tells me we are going in 53 days :sad1:

I know Columbus Day falls in our alternate dates, but that is our Fall Break. Willing to take the kids out a couple of days early if needed. Can't you still take advantage of FD if your stay starts BEFORE the blackout dates?

Thanks for any help you can give...this is our first FD (hopefully!!) trip.

The August/September free dining dates are generally announced in late March/early April. The October - December free dining dates are generally announced mid-summer, around July. If you check in by October 6th you would have a chance of being able to apply a free dining discount to your vacation - if you check in by the last date of a free dining promo you can have the discount applied to your entire stay, up to 14 nights. Here is a link I have bookmarked here on the Disboards that has all the free dining information and the previous dates and release dates:

It has been our experience that the week before and the week after Columbus day are blacked out as far as free dining goes.:sad1: That's DS's fall break time too. DH and I have gotten FD quite a few times in mid-september for our anniversary trips. (weird but we go in September without DS and then again in Oct. with DS and he insists that we stay at the same resort DH and I stayed at the previous month :confused3)

If you check in during a free dining period you get free dining for your entire stay up to 14 nights. But your check-in date must be eligible for the promotion.

For the last few years they have had a free dining offer around the dates of October 2 - 6. If the dates are similar this year, then the OP could check in by the 6th and have the FD discount applied to her entire trip, which would lead into Columbus Day/Week.

OMG I'm sorry! I totally missed your post. I don't know how I managed to do that!
