What are my points?

I own 200 pts at Poly and 150 at the Grand, both are Oct use year. I want to change my current reservation to the new Poly tower on Oct 15 but I don't know how many Poly points I have to use.

Here is what I know I have
2024 - 0 Poly Points
2024 - 0 Grand Points

2025 - 23 Poly Points
2025 - 150 Grand points (I have all points)

Current BLT reservation at 216 points for a March reservation which I used 2024 points for. When I go to the points details page, it says +168 Transaction vacation points for my 216 BLT reservation. Does that mean I used 168 Poly points and then I would have 23 (2025 Year) poly points to use? I am thinking I have total 191 Poly points to use if I switch to the new tower and 48 points will go back my Grand 2024 use year?

When I switch to see my point details for Grand Floridian is says I used 17 points for the BLT reservation. The kicker, we were just there this week but left early due to the Hurricane and Disney returned 40 points to me and allocated into my BLT reservation. I probably just need to call but wasn't sure if someone teach me how to read the account activity details page.

The account activity page is terrible. Go into modifying your march reservation, don't change anything, just click through and select the same room, and at the end it will tell you what points it is using and let you change them around if you want for a 7 month reservation.

I agree with the above. Do a modification and don’t change a thing and see what the point summary says when you click to book it again. Thst will tell you what is being used.

Great advice! here is what I learned.

For my BLT reservation for 216 points

Poly - Expiring at the end of 2024 Year - 176 Points
Available to Borrow from 2025 Year - 23 points

Grand Floridian contact - 0 points
Available to borrow from 2025 year - 150

So does that mean I used all my Poly points for this BLT Reservation? It doesn't add up. 216-176 = 40 I had 40 points returned to me this week due to hurricane but I don't see where those points went back into. Do I have 216 Poly points and another 23 Poly points I can borrow from 2025?

Did you bank or borrow any points into or from 2024/2025 ? Or have any other trips recently? The 176+23 is 199 which is close to your yearly total of 200 Poly points. Not sure what happened to the 40 points returned because they should be showing somewhere if they were indeed returned. Did you go all the way through and confirm the reservation after modifying? I believe it shows what is left afterwards and that would help you see where everything is as well.

I did go all the way to the end. We had a trip in July and Oct 2024. The Oct trip was cut short and 40 points were supposed to be returned. I did borrow 2025 points for the current BLT reservation but when they returned the 40 points, they reallocated and put the borrow points back into 2025 use year. I appreciate everyone trying to help. I guess I just need to call to get verification because I don't see how the current BLT reservation is being made. I am thinking it is with all my Poly points which is great but want to make sure I am not missing any points.

The SSR points would only work if there was still Poly availability for your Spring 2025 trip. Sorry . With any luck You might find Poly availability at 7 months for the Fall 2025 trip. I’d try right when that window opens and if you don’t get it, immediately waitlist so you’re at the top of the ‘trading’ waitlist for best chances. (You’d still have home resort people on the waitlist ahead of you but at least you’d be in front of all the other traders)

It wouldn't be like a transfer because transferred points keep their expiration and home resort. You are never able to use points from one resort on a booking that was made in the 7-11 month booking window at another resort. Otherwise everyone would load up on cheap SSR, OKW, etc points and get a few points at a more expensive resort and like VGF or Poly and reserve something at 11 months, switch to SSR points at 7 months, and repeat. It would pretty much destroy the home booking priority period

If it's not available to book right now with your SSR points, wait until the tower booking starts. There may be some older Poly rooms opening up as people switch their reservations to the new tower and spring time will be within 7 months so you would be able to book a new reservation there with your SSR points if something opens up, but you can't modify one that was made in the 7-11 month window.

Ah! Got it! I was a 1 contract owner for years & never had to do much "managing" bc booking wasn't as competitive.
Now I'm a 2 contract-2 UY small-fry DVC real estate mogul & it's a wild scene...

Points can never change home resort. So, you can’t use SSR points to book Poly when you took advantage of home resort booking.

Transfers happen between memberships so there would be no transfer in this situation.

Now, when PVB tower opens for booking, it’s possible that people will cancel current Poly and you might see nights open up.

One thing you can do is keep an eye out and if you see nights at the beginning or end of your trip open, and when your 7 month window opens, book what you can with SSR points and cancel those nights with the Poly points.
