Some background first. I made reservations for a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom in OKW back in August for Jan 18-23. I waitlisted us for VWL.

Flash forward to yesterday. I received notice in the mail that my waitlist had come through, however it was only for the 1 bedroom. I immediately called to tell them that this is a problem because we are traveling with another family and the whole point of the trip was to hang out together, but was told that they could not switch the 1 bedroom back to OKW at this point because there were none available (as well as no 2 bedrooms available at VWL). They told me that they will put me on the VIP waitlist for both OKW and VWL which is supposed to put me ahead of people on the regular waitlist, but the waitlist is only good for up to 7 days before your stay which means we only have 8 days for it to happen.

I'm thinking that we will just have to hope for the best and I realize it isn't the end of the world if we have to stay in separate places, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions that might help the situation. I was definitely clear when making the reservations that we were traveling with another family and wanted to be in the same hotel, so I think the person taking the original reservation just screwed up and put us on the waitlist incorrectly. So does anyone have any suggestions or do you think I should just hope for the best with the VIP waitlist?

Thanks,
Jim

My understanding is that you cannot WL for 2 rooms -- both or nothing. Each room is a separate WL. I am sorry that this was not explained to you when you made the reservation.

Is it possible that there are 2 rooms available at another resort such as SSR? Best of luck -- Suzanne

The failure was caused by an Advisor who failed to make the correct notations on your WL. I would call MS, and ask to speak to a Team Line Manager. Explain your situation and see what they can do for you.

This is why we never use the waitlist. We always book multiple rooms. It was explained to us a long time ago that each room is separate and would be waitlisted as such. I am sorry this happened to you and I hope it works out. pixiedust:
