So, we are looking to add a night on at the beginning of a 13 night DVC stay at a Value for our trip in January. Unfortunately it is the Saturday night of MLK weekend. As of now there are no Values available. We get in very late that night and don't want to shell out too much money to stay onsite at a moderate or DVC. We have a free night at a Marriott to use if needed, but
I would like to be onsite the next morning and head to the parks and have our baggage taken to AKV for us. What are the chances that I will be able to find a Value room open up by cancellations soon???

Packages have to be paid off 45 days in advance; sometimes rooms open a few days after.afternoons

I think the longer you wait the least likely you are to be able to book ANYTHING in a mod even. You may end up having to stay offsite.

I would book what you can, a moderate if avail. as a room only. Then if a value opens up, you could switch.
Staying off site won't save you much, because you'd have to pay cab fare to get you to the hotel, then another cab to take you to your WDW hotel. So even if you got a free night at a Marriott (there's a Courtyard on Palm Pkwy, or a Marriott Complex on Vineland) with airport transp. then cab to WDW there wouldn't be much of a saving vs a moderate 1 night stay.

Unless there is a Marriott near the airport with free shuttle. Then you can take the shuttle back to the airport in the morning, and get DME to WDW. You'd just have to look up that mornings flight arrival times and put that down for your DME pick up, bringing your luggage with you to DME bus.
