What are my chances?

We bought in to DVC in March and stayed the first time in December at AKL. We LOVE it and wished I'd bought in sooner. We've got a studio booked at OKW from Oct 8- Oct 15. I really want to try Bay Lake. What are going to be my chances of changing to a standard or lake view studio at the 7th month mark? How does it work when people say that "x" number of nights came through on their wait list? Does Disney just switch over random night as available instead of an entire week at once? If so, what if all the nights don't come through? Are you stuck moving resorts all week? Sorry for all the questions...Thanks for any advice.

I have been able to book BLT twice so far at the 7 month mark - in May and Sept. A couple of days ago, I switched our Memorial Day reservation from VWL to BLT at around the 5 month mark. We always book 1 or 2 bedrooms, lake view only.

i doubt you will have an issue with Lake View @ 7 mos but standard views often go to owners before the 7mos mark as there are so few of them.

I can tell you I tried to book a std view oct 23-30 today and was only able to get lake view. Good luck!

think you have a good chance - this is during the food/wine festavial -so really think BWV and BCV will go first - then BLT.

I agree standard view will be long gone, so your only hope is LV, but you do realize that is Colombus Day weekend. One of the busiest weekends in October. I think that will/may cause you problems. With the holiday weekend, and MNSSHP at MK, that will certainly cause you problems. As you suspected if it's not available you can certainly waitlist, and if your waitlist doesn't come through (which is possible) then you need to have a backup plan. They only waitlist you for an entire week, so you will not get part of it. However, you can break it down when you book. If the first 3 days are available when you call, then you can book them. I'm not sure if you can waitlist for the rest until the 7 month window starts for the other part of your reservation. I try to only waitlist for first days or last days. I've never gotten an entire week via the waitlist before, only days.
