I don't do a whole lot of shopping on-line, but when we knew that we wanted to buy a new computer from Dell, I was thrilled to get a Bonus E-mail from My Points for Dell.
So we clicked through the link in that Bonus e-mail to Dell and purchased the computer. Guess we made one fatal mistake. We used DH's name to buy the computer.
(I was sitting at the computer making the order and really thought long and hard about whose name to put - but when I thought that it was HIM who was paying for it - and ego thing, you know - I put HIS name.) I used the e-mail addy that I use for MyPoints. Everything else was kosher.
Wouldn't you know it, AFTER the purchase, I read on the Bonus e-mail that you had to use the name that was on the MyPoints account to get the points.
I wrote to them and asked them if I could possibly get the points and they wrote back within a couple of hours (even though they said that it could take days to hear back due to high Christmas volume. And a second e-mail that I sent at the same time regarding issues that I am having getting the Bonus e-mails to work on my new system has NOT been answered yet and it has been 2 days! Wonder where their priorities are.
) and said "No points."
Should I give up? Or should I ask again? I guess "rules are rules." This is a real disappointment for me. And I am out over $20 worth of points.
