Looking to check out Grand Floridian nest trip. Will just be DW and I.
Looking at 5 days checking in April 1 . It is eater time .
Most likely a studio.
Any thoughts on availability at seven months?

Based on availability there during most of the year, the chances of anything more than a single random day are nil.

Studios - not real likely. There may be a day or two available at 7 months but unlikely to be the entire time.

Chances are better at Easter, because the points are higher then, and the Gold Annual Pass is blacked out. But it is also a time when many people are on spring break, so that tends to fill it up. I agree with others that chances are slim at 7 months, but if you really want to stay there, you should be able to rent from an owner at 11 months, and then rent out your own points to help pay for it.

What about One bedroom?
Better than for a studio but still not great. I think you will have a hard time finding more than scattered 1- or 2-night stays at 7 months.

You have 2 things working against you:
  • VGF is small. Only 47 studios and another 47 1-bedroom villas, plus an additional 47 dedicated 2-bedroom villas and 6 GVs. Every time that a 2-bedroom lock-off is booked, it takes a studio and a 1-bedroom out of inventory.
  • VGF is relatively new (opened in late 2013), so members who own there tend to want to stay there. They tend to book it up before the 7-month window opens for non-owners, especially for busier times.
@miTnosnhoJ 's suggestion to rent out your own points and rent from a VGF owner is a good one. You'll have a better chance of success if you do that. We're already inside of the 11-month window for your dates and the OOP cost would be minimal.

What about One bedroom?
Make sure you compare to cash, it might be competitive if you're during the 2 weeks of Easter of a 1BR and you could always rent out your points if you wanted. Also, you could rent out and rent VGF privately as an option. Otherwise be on the website day one 7 months out and wait list initially for the first day and first 2 days if you can't get anything. Then the next day if still nothin is available you'll have to decide which WL to change. Wait listing day by day and stalking the website is likely the best way to fill such a request.

For 5 night trips starting Easter Sunday in 2015, 2016, and 2017, the VGF 1BRs were open at 7 months out, studios had multiple days filled.

If considering studios elsewhere, then for those same periods in the last three years, BLT lake view, BWV pool/garden view, BRV, Poly, and AKV standard and savanna view studios were open at 7 months out.

This is our home resort and we book a studio here every year for Easter and I have yet to see an Easter where the studios did not fill before the 7 month booking window. (In fact, we are already booked for Easter 2018) It is a great resort and we love it! Hope you get the chance to stay there!

I would go with Dean's suggestion. Less stress and more likely to succeed.
