We are currently booked for a Vero/Dream trip, a total of 9 nights. We have not booked our flights yet as we are still over 6 months out. Historically they will come down around the 5-6 month mark although that may not happen this year. That said, I don't have our "for sure" dates, until we book.
Based on historical pricing, it is probable that we'll add 1-2 nights at the end of the trip for better flight prices (all things being equal, we'll spend that money on another vacation day or 2). IF we do, we hope to do 1-2 nights at AKL, 1B, Savanna view. However, this would mean borrowing points. While I could do it now, based on our use year, I'm reluctant to do so as I don't want to end up in a bind. It wouldn't be a holding situation but I don't have another trip planned in the use year they'd come back into.
Assuming we book the flights at the 5 month mark, what are my chances? Looking at the resort availability thread from last year at the same time, I see no reports but then again...I see very little reports for the entire month of August so I'm not sure how much comfort it gives me.
