Hi Maria!
I found great water bottle holders with a shoulder strap at Wal-Mart. They were a good buy!
Wal-mart also had a cute princess themed notebook I bought as an autograph book for dd. I didn't find a boy-themed one at Wal-mart, so I bought ds an autograph book at the dollar store.
I agree that glow-in-the-dark sticks (necklaces, bracelets, etc.) are good things to buy at home, and they take the edge off of not buying expensive souveniers at the night shows in the parks.
I stocked up on disposable rain ponchos. Last year I bought good ponchos for the kids, and it was a pain to refold them when wet and to carry them around the park. Next time, we will wear them and toss them.
If you are flying and want chewing gum for your return flight home, you cannot buy any at WDW. Buy some extra packs at home.
