We're going on a last minute trip to Disneyland on Labor Day week (Labor Day and the few days afterward.) I have a 1.5 and 3.5 year old. Anyone know what lines are like for the little kid rides, esp in CA Adventure park? They like those rides best. Most of the character rides in Disneyland are still too loud and scary for them, but they love CA Adv. They aren't very good at waiting a long time.

Long lines these days?

We'd love any recommendations . . .

Ususally VERY short! They may be a little longer for labor day, but they are still nothing compared to the lines you see in Fantasyland! The only one that ever gets very long is Monsters Inc. But A Bugs Land is almost always pretty easy, as are the few kids rides in the Paradise Pier.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I go to Dland and DCA almost weekly with my 2 yr old!

what other rides would you recommend for 1.5 and 3.5 year olds that aren't super loud or scary? My kids loved the water play areas last time but that was almost a year ago. And the rocket ride is a favorite. Anything else like that?

You might get more answers if you post this on the DL board. Have you done that? They know everything about DL over there!!! :thumbsup2 :teeth:

My 2 year old LOVES King Triton's Carousel. It's just a carousel in the Paradise Pier section, but with fish instead of horses, and we've never waited more than 5 minutes.

The animation studio, in the Hollywood section is also great for kids. My dd loves watching the movies up on the big screens and dances all around. She also likes Turtle Talk that's in there, and there are almost always characters in there!

My older son enjoyed the rides there, too. He was 9 at the time of our visit. (He's 11 now...where DOES the time go???)

What I noticed is that people move as a herd there. The trick is to not get into a herd...go to whatever line is shortest, not to the nearest ride. It's not a big area, so it's not like you're going to be walking miles.

We went in late May/early June. It was insanely crowded at Disneyland, but CA was a different story. Even during the day we never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride. However, when we went back to the Flik area at dinner time we had no wait. Matter of fact, the CM running Heimlich's Chew-Chew suggested we ride twice in a row...because the little recorded schpiel is different each time.

I think your toddler will love this area.

As to the rest of the park...I don't think you would want to put a toddler on the jellyfish or anything like that unless you are going to ride, too. My younger son had turned 4 just before we went...hew was old enough to ride those rides with his older brother.

Ride the Sun Wheel. The line there was pretty long on the left side...where the cars move. Go in the line on your right...the fixed cars. We had no wait at all on that side.

I agree...the carousel will be a hit for a toddler.

Hope you have a great trip!

My daughter loves the bumper cars, and Fliks Flyers. She's tall enough for Soarin' and the Jellyfish ride, too. We always do the carousel as well. The lines are always short. Don't forget to watch Aladdin, it's a wonderful show. I wish DisneyWorld had Aladdin, it's just that good. Playhouse Disney is always a hit, and so is MuppetVision 3D. Oh, and the new Monster, Inc ride is perfect for all ages (except maybe adults, it's a bit dull).

We took DD,3.5 to DCA about 3 wks ago - very few lines in general. She really enjoyed the jellyfish ride to my surprise. She was barely tall enough to ride it, and wanted to do it over and over. We also had little to no lines when the electric parade started. She totally freaked at the Muppet 3D - it scared her and we had to leave. She also loved Sourin (also just barely tall enough to ride) until the very end with the fireworks.
