What are Guest of Honor Badges?

I have read about the Guest of Honor Badges and I'm not sure what they are. We are going to WDW in October.

They are name badges similar to the ones tht the cm's wear.

I just came back May 7th and had gone to Character Outlet?? at Belz Outlet. They had the guest of honor badges for 1.99 each. They were preprinted. They didn't have my DS name left, but had a ton of others, including mine. I had almost pre-ordered mine in advance from gifts of a lifetime but changed my mind and waited until I got to DTD.

On our last trip I had badges for all of my kids. Cms in parks and resort would call kids by name and the kids felt real special.

In particular, I remember my 7yr old had fallen asleep on the bus ride back to FW and when we came to the stop the driver said over the loud speaker, "Noah, your here, time to wake up." It was fun!

I ordered ours from the Laughing Place store. I know I paid more than if I waited and got them in the parks but this is a surprise trip and I wanted to have them in their "Surprise goody bags". I also ordered their new autograph books because we're checking out of the HRH really really early and checking in at POR really really early because we have at 8:15 PS at CP that first morning. I didn't want to waste precious time in line buying them or worse not having them in time for our breakfast PS. They also had cute "Princess" badges for the girls, I ordered two of them and they're adorable.

I saw those Princess badges, and am seriously considering buying them and having them in the hotel room waiting for the girls.. a gift from "Mickey and Minnie"!

this site has the "official" Mickey badges sold at WDW. I think they may be a little more expensive but not bad if you want to have them before your trip!
