I'm interested in getting Playmobil for one of my nieces for Christmas, and I was wondering if there are usually many sales for Playmobil sets. I'm only looking at spending $30 or less, so I won't be able to get one of the giant sets.

She is 3 1/2 and doesn't own any Playmobil yet but I'm pretty sure she would really get into it. She has been taught to take care of her toys and is very careful with them. She also has a great imagination. I know she loved the Little People zoo animals and such but she's growing out of Little People.

I saw some sets at Kohl's maybe a good deal with 30% off. Check online. The coupon code is pumpkin30.

I love Playmobil. Every year I bought my DD the take along house that open up and them closes to store. There is a Santa one, a playhouse one and I think a veterinary office. She is almost 11 and we still get them out every Christmas. They also have an advent set that is really fun. You put a piece of the set in a different box for each day up until Christmas. Some of the pieces are really small though!

Yep Kohls carries a limited amount of Playmobil, and with all their coupon deals that might be the way to go. Target and ToysRUs carry some too. You might also get on the Playmobil mailing list. Sometimes they have decent deals on stuff directly from their New Jersey distributor. Then you've got the entire collection to choose from.

I've also found decent deals on eBay if you know how much the item actually costs (goto Playmobil's USA website, they list all their prices).

When my DD15 was young we were Playmobil nuts. I'm serious, we have a room downstairs that is Playmobil blue with clouds. I have several pieces MIB along the shelf including the gold knight for the year 2000 which ended up being recalled because of the gold paint! Too funny...

So I can tell you, with us, the most popular ones were the ones with the most animals. Zoos, pet farms, forest scenes. And like the previous poster, the advent calendars are a great idea if she's patient enough - maybe she's a little young to understand why she can't open her gift all at once! :rotfl:

DS loves Playmobil. He's been angling for the fort, which is $150! Not likely....

Anyhow, there are some on sale at Amazon right now. This one has a carrying case, which I think is good for waiting at the doctors or while DD is taking her dance class. Maybe pair it with another set on the same theme?

I know you're trying to keep it to $30 but this set is a great deal at $50 (normally $130). I haven't bought it, though, because I think it's a bit too girl-y for my pirate/soldier-loving boy.

Thanks, everyone! I will just keep looking around for sales on the smaller sets.

I don't have a Kohl's charge card (I must be the only one!) so I can't take advantage of the 30% off but I'll look for a code for more than 15% off.

I think all of the sets are so neat, I'll have a hard time deciding!

I have bought Playmobile at Target. I just did a quick search online. It was not listed. But, I know that I have bought it there.

Just popping into say what great quality Playmobil is! DD9 has gotten so much use out hers, along with American Girl. I love the quality and all the little details!

We bought a school set at Costco last year. We also have the pool. They are both great!
