I have been to Oahu at least a dozen times and only stayed at Ko Olina once because it’s not my favorite location. All activities occur east or south or north side of the island. I just couldn’t find anything to do without driving all the way cross the island everyday. We stayed at Aulani for 8 nights a few years back and we probably only stayed in for two days.
We are taking our elderly parents to Aulani in April and I would like some suggestions as what to do during the day with seniors. Thx!

"All the way across the island" is only about an hour, and that's only to the absolute furthest things like Kualoa Ranch, the Byodo-In Temple, and the PCC. Pearl Harbor is like 20 minutes. Bishop Museum about 30 minutes. Dole about 30 minutes.

There's a company called Wildside specialty tours that does a trip that leaves just up the road that we are doing next Monday. Will let y'all know how it goes!

Many excursions like the Kualoa Ranch and island tours will pick up from Aulani if they want to do something longer.

What are your parents interested in? Aulani isn't very far from Pearl Harbor or Honolulu. You can visit the Dole Plantation plus a few other farms on the north shore, which is pretty easy to get to if you're driving.

They have never been to Hawaii so anything is good. We will go to North Shore Turtle Bay for a few nights though. But Dole Plantation is a great idea. I also found a Japanese temple up that way too.

We took my mom when she was 75. We stayed at the Marriott Ko'Olina for 2 nights before flying to the Big Island for a week. Things we did:

Pearl Harbor and the Missouri
North Shore
Waikiki
Byodo-In Temple
We did hike Diamond Head but went slower. My mom does walk her dog 3-5 miles a day so while we went slower than usual, she was just fine.

This past trip DH and I did a whale watching snorkel tour that left from the Ko Olina Marina. The company was Ko Olina Ocean Adventures I believe and they were very good.

I would also take them to the Punchbowl National Cemetery, which is easily walkable or you can drive and park in various locations.

It really depends on the fitness and mobility of your parents. We were able to do Diamond Head because my mom is in good physical condition. Just make sure they stay very hydrated because it is very humid. My mom only had problems with the heat and humidity. We have heat hear in CO, but we don't have humidity so that gets to us.
