I just had a converstion with my DH who suggested we take the kids on the Magic in Jan.2004!!! I am so excited that I want to call DU right now!!

However, I am getting on the Wonder in 1 week with my girlfriends for the 99$ cruise over the weekend and remember that there are some advantages to booking another cruise while you are on board.

Does anyone know what those advantages are?

Should I wait to book until I am on the ship or should I do it tomorrow morning?!!

I can't believe we are going to do this cruise again!!! I thought we had decided to wait until DS was around 5 but he will only be almost 4 in January!! Wooo Hooo

Booking onboard is the ONLY way to get the Castaway Club shipboard credit. That is the main benefit. :)

We booked on board, and got the credit, but asked to have our reservation moved to DU's. They faxed them the information and I got an email from DU letting me know my new reservation number. Then I am still getting the $75 rebate from DU's!

So just wait until you are onboard. It is very easy to book while there and Dreams Unlimited will take over after the cruise. It is a Win-Win situation!

MNMom - sorry I don't know the answer to your question. I just wanted to say hi! Sounds like we will miss you by one week for the $99 cruise.

Lucky you! Have fun on another 7-day January cruise. Are you going to do the Western this time?

We booked a 7 day Western cruise for 11/9/02, while onboard last October. We will get a $200.00 onboard credit. We wouldn't have gotten anything if we waited until after the cruise to book.:D

Now the bad part for 'me' is that I had wanted to book with DVC points, but for the same cruise next year (we like to go during our twin's birthday each year), but that would have been 12 months out and DVC will only let you book for 11 months out of sooner.

Oh well, we are using our points for something else now.

Is the onboard credit $200 for any cabin booked... or just a verandah cabin? I seem to remember it being less for an oceanview or inside cabin. Or am I thinking of something else?

I think the amount of the onboard credit depends on the price of the room you book. We booked a Cat.6 with verandah and are getting $200.00 OBC. But you are right, different categories get different amounts of credit.:)

does anyone know if you can change your cruise date & still get the credit? We booked onboard but may have a conflict! :(

I don't think you should have any problem moving your date. We booked on board this past July, but wanted August, 2004 - because the books weren't open yet for August, they booked us for April, 04 and told us when the books opened to just call DCL and move our date - there would be no problem and our credit would be secure.

I don't seem to recall anything about the price of the room affecting the on-board credit. I thought it was $200 for any 7 day and a lesser amount ($50 - $100 maybe?) for a 3 or 4 day.

Wow - you guys are fast--and very thourough too!!

This is just what I was looking for. I had no idea we could possibly change our dates too! I thought you were locked in. That really helps our situation tremendously. I will have to wait for ONE week and then the planning begins!!

MickeyMagic-- too bad we will miss each other. We will prob. take the western with the kids, but I will sure miss that Golden Eagle Catamaran---that was a blast!!! Have fun on your 99$ too!!
