Does anyone know what airlines are at the port to transfer luggage to the Airport? I know USAir but I am not sure of others.

Thanks,
Lyn

Just returned from the 1/24 eastern and the airlines that checked bags at the terminal were Amerucan, Continental, Delta, Northwest and US Airways.

Wow, having never cruised before I didn't know you could check your luggage at the port for your return flight. I assume we can do this even though our USAir flight doesn't leave until 5:45 PM?

Yes USAir can do that for you. I found it to be very convenient not to having to worry about the bags. The only thing was that our flight left late like yours so when we landed in Philadelphia they had already shipped our bags on a earlier flight so the airline had set them aside. It was great because we didn't have to wait for our bags, but some people were complaining because their bags got there ahead of them.

:sunny: I could tell you that Spirit does not. We had to walk around the airport with ours.

I can tell you that ATA does not, because that is the airline we used on our last cruise. I don't remember who did do this.

We also have a 5:00 pm departure on US Air on the return. Does this mean they take our bags the last night of the cruise or before breakfast the last morning?

Would you do this again........check your bags from the port?

Nick@VB+OKW:

Your bags still need to be put outside your room the last night of the cruise. In the morning you go through customs like everyone else, from there you go right to the USAir station outside the terminal and they check you in and take your bags. Would I do it again? In a heart beat, but I am flying Spirit this time so we can't. Last year I flew AirTran and we had to take our luggage and they don't even have curbside check in so in wasn't convenient but the airfare was cheap so I guess I saved money ($200.00) in the long run and that is all that matters.

Thanks Lyn.......since we have a "day room" at the Hyatt, this will be really nice and convenient. Won't have to mess with our luggge at all then, and board our flight 1 hour before departure.

Do they give us our boarding pass at the port when we check our luggage there at US AIR?

Where is this Hyatt? Near the port? Can I ask how much it is?

The Hyatt is actually in the airport at Orlando. I have read in the past that the day rate is around $60-70 but I am not sure.

The luggage check-in at the port is great, but for Delta check-in, the flight has to be after 12 or they do not have enough time to get luggage to airport. we found this out the hard way when we tried to check bags at the port for an 11:30 am flight--they wouldn't take them, so we wasted precious minutes standing in line!

Ok, now I'm going to show my ignorance. What is there to do all day at the airport to justify a day room?

Our flight doesn't leave MCO until 5:00 pm. We just want to relax so we are taking the DCL busses back to MCO, and checking in at the Hyatt, probably around 9:30 am. This way we can just un-wind ,relax, watch TV, get caught up on e-mail,etc. Have lunch and or dinner at one of the restraunts. It is just my wife and I so we feel it is worth the convenienc($60).::yes::

We go to WDW 2 times a year(DVC members) so we didn'y want to rent a car for the day,or go to DD,etc. It is only $60 for the day room.

As Nick says, we go to WDW multiple times a year (also DVC members). DW wouldn't mind going to DD to shop some more, but it'd be much less expensive to pay $60 for a day room at the Hyatt than to rent a car to visit a park or go to DD so she can do more shopping.;) .

The last time we used this service was 2001 and they gave us our boarding passes right at the port. As far as I know that hasn't changed.
