Any major one will with atleast one transfer. Airtran,NWA and Suncountry fly direct. SW and some of the other smaller ones also don't fly out of here. :pug:

First of all, welcome to the DIS! I am originally from up north and I still love Northern Minnesota! I currently work with people from Warroad, Hibbing, Penguilly (Greenway), and Duluth. I also have some kids in class whose dad went to Greenway! It is amazing how many Northern Minnesota folks have migrated to the cities!

Here is a link to the airlines out of MSP. http://mspairport.com/msp/Airlines/passenger.aspx
I personally like Sun Country, but NW is great if you can get a good price with them. If you need a hotel to stay at and do their park and fly deal, toss me a PM, I can send you info to a awesome one near the airport at a good price!

Thanks Duds,
All the ones I expected. I am looking for a deal! WOW! The airfare is really high for June!
I will keep loooking.

Airfare is never spectacular from MSP. If you can get it under or around $200, you should grab it. You can get it cheaper, but you never know when those fares will come around.....

Yhea, depending on your departure city in Northern Minnesota, it might be cheaper to fly out of the little city and connect (probibly in MSP) and continue to Florida....

Actually, if you want a laugh, try pricing airfare on NWA's site for ANY dates around MEA week (Oct 19+20). Prices are $400-600!!!! Unfortunately neither Airtran or Suncountry have Oct. dates out yet.

The thing with Sun Country is that they are a Minnesota company, so they know that MEA will bring travelers, so they price those dates higher.

Good luck.

Do these high price MEA tickets mean NWA won't offer FF tickets for fewer miles? It worked out great for me a year ago November, they went from 50,000 miles per ticket to 25,000 per ticket. I jumped on that one right away.

What's anyone's perdiction for MEA in October for FF tickets??

Thanks.

If we're very very patient we've found exactly this to be true. We like flying out of Duluth (1 hour away and no hotel stay the night before...and 1 hour drive HOME as opposed to 4 hours and the hotel stay if we fly out of MSP).

Keep an eye on flights out of Hibbing, Duluth, Grand Rapids...you might find comp prices to flights out of MSP. Good luck!
