What about a trip to DisneyLand?(Bringing out our Inner Child °O° December 3-7 '09)

Thanks for the tips, Bill. Now I'm really craving a Monte Cristo. Think you could FedEx one over here during your next DL visit? :rotfl:
Hmmm, would be kind of tricky trying to pack the Blue Bayou theming in with the sandwich.:confused3 A Monte Cristo outside of DL just wouldn't be as tasty.:sad2:

True. Guess I'll just have to wait until next year to try one :)

So I am going to change the title just a little to include the bonus day at the beginning (?) of the trip... if that is the agreed concensus, for a trip to Knotts Berry Farm.

I was wondering, for those who will fly out of Atlanta, hat airline would we want to use? I dont fly often, so am at a loss on that knowledge. Delta is what I have used when sending Mom on a trip. But you all use the airlines much more than I do. It would be cool to fly out together :)

We could scan through all the airlines and get the best rate and go with that one. :confused3

well, i do not have dings or any of those things.. so just let me know what you decide. I may have a voucher though not sure what limits are on it when i get it. Wont get it for awhile though. Its through e-rewards.

Thanks Teresa! I have let this slide for a bit because of other things and other trips!

I realized today that those of us going on this trip will be at DL on Walt's birthday! that seems pretty cool to me :)

just under a year away :)

the Blue Bayou has the best I am told. I have that recipe from there, but never made them. I am looking forward to this trip too! I am so torn about staying on property... as I would love to have that magic.

DL is very different that WDW about staying on property. I have been going for 43 years now and have never stayed in a Disney Hotel at DL.

The identical Monte Cristo sandwiches are served in both the Blue Bayou and Café Orleans. Like TS dining at WDW, nowadays, you should make ADRs for the Blue Bayou way in advance of visiting DLR. The Monte Cristo served at Café Orleans is a couple dollars less than at the Blue Bayou. Both locations are TS restaurants and use the same kitchen. However, dining in the Blue Bayou is well worth the slightly higher cost.:thumbsup2

The reason the sandwich costs more at BB is you also get a soup or salad with it, where that would be extra at Cafe Orleans.

I will start working on more of this after the first of the year... find out more of who wants to join in on something like that, probably via email and get numbers for the ADRs

Also, you can not make ADR's as far in advance as at WDW, I think it is only 60 or 90 days instead of 6 months

I saw how close everything is, and I do have a good room just across the street. I just think it would be fun to stay in a DL hotel.

I better go pack... Cait is at the airport already LMAO

You will really give her hives now :rotfl2:

Good to know... what do you recommend beside BB???

In the parks the only place you need an ADR is BB, for Cafe Orleans I always have been able to make day of reservations. Oh and maybe Ariels Grotto if you want to do a princess meal.

In the hotels, Storytellers has a killer breakfast with chip and dale. Goofy's kitchen is popular they do charactor breakfast and dinner. Steak House 55 is expensive, but top notch.

Honestly my new favorite resturant down there is rainforest cafe in DTD

I want to do that "other" thing you told me about :)
