What a mess!

I was lazy and didnt feel like cooking dinner, so i threw a pizza in the oven and went back to watching tv. the timer was set, so i didnt see a point of staying in the room. about 10 minutes later I hear a pop, kinda like when the cold pan heats up and reshapes.

Nope, the brand new bottle of olive oil exploded! it was on top on the stove and i didnt even realised it was there! What a mess! It was everywhere....

So i shut off the oven and tried to figure how im going to clean this mess...Well the paper towels didnt absorb it well enough so i used an old nose bulb to suck up 4 glasses of oil oil before i could try to absord the rest with the towels. that took an hour. I finally get the top kinda clean and started the dishwasher with all the stove parts and the rest of the stuff that got covered, that were i see that when it exploded it traveled to the counter and was running under the toaster oven. it took me 2 hours to clean the stove, floor, counters and dishes that were covered in oil.... so much for relaxing huh! next time im eating out!

LOL! That sounds like something I would do. :)

That reminds me that I need to go clean the bathtub. My 2 year old emptied a bottle of shampoo into it last night. He's done that before. You'd think that shampoo would be relatively easy to clean up, but it just makes a bunch of bubbles. And you have to use paper towels, not regular towels, to clean it up or you end up with a ton of bubbles in the washing machine when you wash those towels. I figured that one out the hard way. :rotfl:

FYI...If you used towels to clean up your oil, add dish soap, like Dawn, to the washing machine when you wash them. Regular clothes detergent won't get the oil out.

Oh no, that sounds like something that would happen to me.

Do you have kosher salt or kitty litter? Pour it on the spill. It will absorb the oil.

You've had some night. I don't think I would want to cook again for a week!
