We just got back from the radiation oncologist's office. Boy, what a difference a positive outlook makes!! 
They were so informative, quick to answer any questions, so kind and caring............so encouraging and optimistic! 
Cancer is cancer and the next 7 weeks will be hard I'm sure, but everyone there was simply fantastic. This will play a huge difference in how Dennis feels at the end of this.
His schedule will be radiation 5 days a week for 7 weeks and weekly chemo. They said that most patients with this type of cancer never even require surgery later. It kills it all.
A final note which everyone here will appreciate...........the nurse, Kim, was telling us that Dennis can bring in whatever music he likes to listen to and they will play it for him during treatment. I smiled and said he could bring in the Illuminations cd.
She smiled and said that she loved that parade! They had been in Disney awhile ago. Dennis mentioned to her if she is planning on going back, be sure to check out internet sites for information. She said she had looked around before and found a disney based discussion board and how nice and informative everyone was. I asked her if it was the DIS. She said no, that wasn't the name................"it was something like w d w i n f o "
I laughed and said "That IS the DIS!" She said she would look around and read but never posted. I told her she was a "lurker" and now she has to come back!!
