What’s the one item you always take to the parks?

So what’s the one item you always take to the park or have in your park bag that most people wouldn’t think of. Or the one thing you feel totally necessary to have every time

Our kids are long past diaper age, but I keep a travel pack of baby wipes in my park bag for wiping sticky fingers after Mickey bars, or dirty faces after eating pizza.

As little as possible! With so many trips under my belt, I can get everything down to just a belt bag - it's SO freeing! We have a potty trained preschooler.

I agree with baby wipes - we throw a pack under the stroller. When he's past stroller age, I'll stick some in a ziplock in my bag. So handy!

Lip balm. We have always been there in February and inevitably my daughter and I get chapped lips...one time it was so bad that I had to take my daughter to the first aid station. By the time you realize you're getting chapped lips it's too late, so we always have it especially when doing outdoor rides like BTMRR.

Other than that we travel light...most of my stuff would fit in my pockets. We park hop with a break in the afternoon so we don't need much, especially extra clothing.

I bring a lot. But surprisingly it all fits in a little make up bag. Small tube of Advil, a couple bandages, moleskin strips (sticky), extra hair elastic, mini deodorant, chafing stick, chap stick, extra 1-2 contact lenses, couple tabs of bonine, a couple Benadryl chewable, a couple ziplock bags, a charger for my phone, tic tacs, small sun stick or cream and Surface wipes.

the make up bag with the above items goes in my side sling bag, along with a mini umbrella, poncho (and not an over the head one, we may a little extra for the button down ones with the hood!) I have a refillable 12 oz insulated Owalla bottle that goes in my side pocket on the bag. I have ear clips to hang my Minnie ears if I’m not wearing them. I hang 1-2 anti back tubes off my bag. And if I know it’s a popcorn kind day I’ll hang my popcorn bucket off too! If it’s calling for a rainy day, or if we are doing water rides I also bring extra socks. If temps are going to dip I’ll bring a long sleep or packable jacket.

In the hot summer months, portable UV umbrellas.

Not only for shade (makes a huge difference if having to stand outside for a period of time) but we don't like the sticky/clingy feel of ponchos.

Some sort of charger for my phone - either a fuel rod type (Amazon) or a larger one. Some sort of rain gear - depending on time of year and if I'm wearing a skort with lots of pockets or leggings with none. Can be anywhere from a cheap disposable poncho that will fit in a small ziploc bag in a pocket of a skort or a regular Disney poncho or an umbrella or a smaller rain jacket to a full on cover every part of my body rain jacket or a combination there of. I never step foot in the parks without some sort of rain gear, push comes to shove a disposable poncho is great for sitting on the ground.

A note on ponchos. Our family prefers the button up hooded ponchos vs over the head. you get less of that sticky, hot gross feeling that you get with an over the head poncho. We find it also keeps us dryer and is much easier to take on and off and reuse if necessary. I always pack a couple rubber bands and a zip lock back so I can easily roll them back up and stick them in a bag to use again if it’s an on and off rain type day.
