What’s the best strategy to ride FoP without Genie+ and LL?

We arrive on Monday morning and plan on spending most of the day at Epcot including the After Hours event for deluxe guests. Tuesday is our AK day. I don’t plan on buying Genie+ or LL and I’m pretty sure we won’t be there for opening only because the day before will be long with traveling early and then staying up late for Epcot After Hours. Tuesday is also my boys’ birthday so I don’t want to be nagging them to hurry up and get moving in the morning. 😉 When is the best time to try to ride FoP on Tuesday? We always take midday breaks and I’m not sure if we’ll head back to AK in the evening. It will probably be a day of decision. Would you recommend hoping in line before we leave for our break, so maybe around noon or 1:00? We are fine with waiting, I just want to try to ride when the line might be a little shorter.

Thanks!

This is the wait times throughout the day for the last month:

It’s usually the first hour and last half hour of the day that’s the best for hopping in line, but if neither of those works and this is the most important ride of the day, I’d probably just do it on arrival if the wait time seems reasonable.

But if there’s other short wait times you want to try to take advantage of, it probably wouldn’t hurt to save for your last ride before heading out for the break as well. 1-2pm seems like there are times where that can be a good spot to hit.

TP mentioned getting in line around park hopping time as the wait time tends to dip a little around that time as people who got there super early hop out of AK.

I think we’ll shoot for that 1-2pm timeframe. Thanks!

Frankly, I would plan on a later start (like 1-2 pm) and sticking it out until the park closes. Hop into line right at the end of the night. AK, and especially Pandora, is absolutely beautiful at night. I think you’ll be able to knock out everything you want to see even with a late start.

I’d personally have a lazy morning and arrive at AK around 1 and stay to close. AK at the end of the day (especially Pandora) is lovely and has much shorter waits than mid-day.

I agree hopping in line at the end of the night is a solid option, but I thought this time of year the sun set so late that you couldn’t experience the “pandora at night” view?

Oh shoot. I forgot all about that :(. Stupid equinox 😎 🌅 🌚.

It'll still be pretty when they come out as it'll be close to sunset.
