What’s in the package from Disney Reservations and ME – leaving shortly--not received

Disney sent my travel package (documents –coupons - info?) for my Magic Your Way with CS dining to my travel agent. He’s a one person shop (friend of a friend) and has not answered my calls so I don’t know if he’s received the package and has forwarded it to me or not. I do know he had a trip planned so for all I know he might be out of the country. I have received emails directly from Disney and have checked on-line and everything looks good. Disney reservations and ME both said packages were sent to TA and they will not send out another.

What am I missing? What do I need? Can I get whatever I need replaced?

is to get in touch with your travel agent--NOW. If he is a friend of a friend, I would be calling that friend and seeing if he/she has this person's cell number. You need those packets before your trip. If Disney won't send another one, you MUST get it from the agent. Good luck!

In the packet are the yellow luggage tags that signify that your luggage is to go to Disney World via the Magic Express luggage handling service. Also included are you tickets to use ME.

Keep pushing to get that packet!

Good luck

Why?

Let's see...
ME Yellow tickets
You don't HAVE to have these. When you get to MCO, go to the DME desk, give them a description of your luggage and your claim tickets. They'll take care of the rest.
OR
Pick up your luggage and take it on the DME bus with you.

ME "Tickets"
Again, go to the DME desk, give them your name, say you never got your tickets and they'll print you new ones.

Any hotel reservation information
As long as you know WHICH hotel you're staying at, you'll be able to check in. They should also have your dining arrangements (assuming you have them).

Now, will it be EASIER if you have the packet? Yes. Is it NEEDED? No. Don't stress over it.

Because he/she is entitled to them for one, and secondly, OP may want to use the vouchers that come in the resort packet. OP didn't say if he/she paid this travel agent a fee or not, but it is his job to deliver the packets to them and they should not have to describe their bags to anyone. That is why people book ME...so they don't have to worry about anything and can just get on the bus and go.:confused3

Right, but you're giving the OP the impression that she isn't going to be able to use DME if she doesn't get the packet. That absolutely isn't the case. There's certainly no point in making the OP panic when there's nothing worth panicking about. It's very likely that the travel agent hasn't received the packet yet. I wouldn't be so quick to blame him.

KGK, it would be preferable to get the packet, but if you don't you'll be fine. The worst case scenario is that you'll spend an extra 5 minutes at the DME counter - it won't even delay you getting on the bus. It really isn't that big of a deal.

Oh, by the way, did you call DME directly or did you just call Disney? I'm thinking that you didn't call DME directly, because it would be very surprising if they refused to send out another packet. If that's the case, you need to call DME directly as soon as possible. I would check with them to make sure they have your reservation.

Yes, I get all that. But look at the OP... they wanted to know what they NEEDED. The answer is "nothing". But it's not like they won't be allowed on ME or won't be allowed to check into the resort without the package. Like I said, the stuff in the packet would make things easier, but it's not like the trip is ruined if the package doesn't show up.

I didn't mean to imply that you were out of luck, OP, but seeing as how you called Disney already and they told you that they would not be sending you the "documents, coupons, info" that you specifically stated in your post and also that you asked here if you could get them "replaced", I gave the answer to that question. I definitely didn't mean to leave you with the impression that others took from it. My apologies.

However, I still say to get ahold of your travel person and get your info. Hopefully you can get it all worked out prior to your trip so the bit of stress can be done NOW instead of at a busy airport.

Also, I want to say thank you for being a Veteren and serving our country. I hope you have a magical trip!

Thank you leadfootlevi, Sam gordon and Alesia. That's the info I was looking for and needed.

Smitch I appreciate your input but as Alesia said, now is not the time to panic... ;)

Yes we have tried every phone number for TA - home, office, cell, fax and email -- no response since last week.

Yes I would like to have yellow ME tags - but if that's the most important thing I'm missing, we'll cope. Certainly not going to sweat the small stuff (would much rather worry about the tarp thingee on Main St. Bakery )

And yes I called DME direct -- they will send out another package 10 days after shipping first package. Just cutting it too close... The other package (from reservations) I'm just out of luck. And no one knows exactly what's included. I assume that items like the resort mug etc will not be a problem at all..

Thanks ALL for your input.

The only thing the package from reservations includes is coupons that no one ever uses. :rotfl:Don't worry about not having that. :)

The DME info isn't vital, either. If you don't get the yellow tags in time, it's absolutely no problem for DME to get a description of your bags (and tag numbers for your luggage) and print you out another coupon to get on the buses. They will still pull your luggage and it will magically show up in your room. :wizard:

No problem smitch -- like I said, no need to sweat the small stuff. These boards are full of "misunderstood" posts and threads. I try to give the benefit of the doubt and do appreicate you thoughts.

Thanks for the Vet acknowledgement. Things are sure different now than when I first served. Nice to see the military appreicated. And we will have a magical trip. It's Disney, and we'll be making family memories....

Well, I would be more than a bit peeved with this person who is supposed to be providing you with a service. You should be able to contact the TA who has made your travel arrangements. If they aren't available then they should have left you the number of someone who could help you out. At least have someone checking the mail to forward things to people.
That being said...others have given you the correct info. You don't have to have anything. Obviously, you have talked to DME and it would seem that they have found you in their system..that's the most important thing. IF you aren't in the system, you aren't getting on the bus..plain and simple.
You can get your own bags and bring them to the bus with you, or you can give the baggage receipts to the DME CM who will give that info to another CM and they will get your bags and have them delivered to your resort. Simple.

Yes, it's nice to be able to tag your bags with the handy dandy yellow tags. But, many people don't get the packet in time, so have to go without.

As far as the regular Disney reservation packet, yeah, there are some vouchers in there but that's about it. You really don't need anything that's in them either. Nice to have, but not a deal breaker.

But, I would really have a conversation with this TA, and I use the term very loosely, when you are able to track them down. That's just not good business practice to be unavailable!!

Just FYI: I go to WDw several times a year and have always recieved the ME pkt with the yellow tags about 21 days out then a few days later receive the big blue Disney envelope with all the pkg info and vouchers in it. Last week I was shocked when I recieved the big blue envelope for our Feb trip and found the yellow vouchers in there along with our luggage tags. When I started looking for the DME booklet, I found they don't print them anymore. Instead it is made into the same booklet your itinerary and vouchers are in.

I'm not sure when they started sending everything all in one envelope. For my Nov/Dec trip I received two separate envelopes like I always do (one for DME and one with the pkg vouchers), but not this time.

Lesson learned you don't need a travel agent to book a Disney vaca. It's so easy to book everything yourself and then you have total control over your reservations.
Good luck I hope that agent gets back to you!!

Do you have any on line confirmations or records of your bookings and reservations. Do a print screen (requires more than pressing the Prt Scn button) and bring them with you.

Just wanted to update those who gave great advice. (and thank you by the way).

Travel agent called. Had medical emergency -- getting packages out to me today. :yay:

Let the magic begin.

That's good news. Have a magical vacation.

Thanks for the update...people seldom come back and let us know what happens. Good news.
