OK, so I have been checking regularly to see if any suites opened up online at the RPR for our dates in Nov (11/28 - 12/3). Well, sweet Molly Brown, isn't one of my options a KIDS Suite. Description: KIDS SUITE 670 Sq Ft
King bdrm plus kids rm with 2 single bedsExtra TV and Video Games

Wow. So, then I go check the RPR website, and they haven't updated anything yet. The only suite listed with a description is the usual King Suite.

HMMMM... Who has the skinny. Notice that in the description that I got checking my rates, it no longer gives a limit of 3 people ....

Is this part of the renovations?

Anyone have the skinny?!!

Ok, so as not to let my fellow RPR fans down ... I called and asked the following:

1) The Kids Suites are a MAX OCCUPANCY of 5 .... That's right. Five. Not 3, but 5!!!!

2) Kids Suites are NOT eligible for LF Plat upgrades. I asked. The only LF Plat upgrade at the RPR remains the KING Suite with a max occupancy of 3. Sorry.

I wonder if they converted some King Suites to Kids Suites during the renovations?

Oh, and BTW, some of you may remember that I tried to change my HRH rate from AAA to Super Saver and keep my King Suite upgrade. This time I was allowed to and I changed my rate from $191.20 to $179. However, there were still no King Suites at the RPR for my dates.

WOW!!! Thanks for the fyi..... Only thing I can think of is people were complaining about not being able to fit 5 at RPR :confused3 Doesn't make sense it's not eligible for LF Plat upgrade tho :scratchin ....unless they are saving them for 'regular' bookings and not 'upgrades' I would think they'd have to reno SOME King's to make room for the Kid Suites....wouldntcha?

I think the kids suites are a great idea for RPR. It will be interesting to see their value compared to the other rooms.

Didn't need to ask; the rates are available online. For my dates, it was $299/night.

I agree. The RPR definitely needed some family friendly suites. Sounds like the only difference between the King Suite and the Kids Suite is the King has a pull out couch in the palor. The Kids has 2 twin beds.

They should make some with two queens and two twins.

Jodie--where did you see info on Kids Suites at RPR? The sites I looked at (via UO.com and loews.com) only had Kids Suites for HRH and PBH.

I am looking for a suite with 2 bathrooms for our upcoming August stay. I have already reserved a Portofino Suite. I am good with sharing a 2 twin room with my nephew while my sis & hubby have the King, but I would like a separate bath. Wondering if my upgrade to Portofino Suite with me on the pull out is the way to go. Or, should I decide to give up my bathroom for a twin bed in a room with a 9 YO boy. Best scenario would be to have 2 baths in the kidsuite.

First of all, this has got to be one of the better posts I've seen on these boards :lmao: ...quick & to the point :thumbsup2

Secondly, I'd agree Damo

:lmao: Sorry about that. I couldn't find the button to delete the whole post so resorted to editing it to a "."

What I originally said was Loews will upgrade Loews Plats to a Kids suite as we had a Kids suite last year and also got offered one for our upcoming stay in October but opted for the King Suite as we find the "open plan" design much better. This was at the HRH. I then re-read the OP's post and realised they were talking about the RPR and new kids suites.

I believe she called RPR and found out about the Kid Suites at RPR. I think they are new since the renovation, and not listed/updated in the systems yet. I thought the only way to get a Kid Suite at HRH WAS an upgrade :confused3 ...I don't know...the whole thing confuses me???? Stickin' w/ PBH for next summer tho :thumbsup2

Here's my thinking: they are in the process of converting some King Suites to Kid Suites, and you will see them available online for a date after they've completed at least some conversions. Try, for example, plugging in my dates of Nov. 28 - December 3 of this year. You will see for yourself that the Kids Suite is an option. There is no information online right now otherwise because they aren't available yet. If your dates are after December, go ahead and call instead.

However, as I mentioned, the upgrade to a Kids Suite will not be a standard Plat Upgrade ... you'll have to work wheels and deals to get that.

Also, since I think that they are converting King Suite to Kids Suites (again, I want to be clear that this is my conjecture only, based upon square footage, what seems to be a similar floor plan, and the current renovations), then I am fairly certain that the Kids Suites at the RPR will only have one bathroom as the King Suites do now.

For 2 bathrooms and a plat upgrade, your only option remains a Portofino Suite.

I think I'm going to add that into my upgrade primer ...

You can reserve (and pay for) a Kid Suite at HRH. You can also reserve (and pay for) a Kid Suite at PBH.

THERE ARE NO LF UPGRADES TO KID SUITES. Any upgrade received to a Kid Suite rather than a King Suite was not standard and not entitled as part of the LF program.

Here is the PBH description:

Kids Suites
Our Kids Suites let mom and dad have a little privacy, and the kids have some fun! With a standard king bedroom for the adults plus a separate room for the kids, there’s plenty of space for the whole family at 650 - 675 square feet. The two separate rooms are connected via a door that can be open or closed, and feature a single entrance to the adult room. In other words, the children’s room opens only into the adult’s room, and not into the hallway. The kids rooms are decorated in fun themes and include two twin beds or bunk bed, a small table and chair set, separate closet, and a television.

The HRH Kid Suites are actually larger:

Kids Suites
Fun vacations are not just for adults but for kids too. Decorated to appeal to our youthful guests, these suites feature an attached kids' room with TV, table, and chairs. Enjoy king bed accommodations for the adults and two twin beds for the kid rockers - 800 sq. ft. Kids Suites are also available on the Club Level for an additional charge.

There is no info available yet on RPR Kids Suites.

Read this today about the new "Kid Suites" at RPR:

The hotel is also adding eight Jurassic Park-themed kid’s suites. These popular suites, currently the only accommodations of their kind in the world, offer privacy for mom and dad, while the kids stay in a separate sleeping room that features custom Jurassic Park wall murals, artwork from the making of the movies and Jurassic Park-themed beds and furniture. A stay in one of these suites is the perfect way for guests to add to the adventures they enjoy at Universal Orlando's theme parks. Parents appreciate the added safety feature that only allows access from the children's room into the adult's room, and not into the hallway.

Very cool!

I wonder if this will make it harder for Loews Platinum members to recieve king suite upgrades? If they are going to convert king suites to kids suites, that means less king suites available and platinum won't get you an upgrade to a kids suite so......

I hope not. Suite upgrades are a main reason I stay at Universal at least once or twice a year
