Today was Daniels 8th Birthday and we were heading to Cape May for breakfast.
I felt 010 [/U]delicate to say the least but the nice warm sun was helping me get motivated well that and the very excited birthday boy !!
In all honesty if it had not been Dans birthday I would have cancelled this breakfast as eating anything was not high on my list of must dos today!!
Anyway we arrived at the beach club on time I loved the theming as was very impressed at our first glance at a disney resort. The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly and of course the kids were amazd by the gingerread carousel.
A very excited Dan got his birthday badge and stood waiting with the pager. Our server was lovely and when everyone was out of earshot I asked if she knew about the little surprise for Dan and she smiled and said it was all set
The kids were very shy with the characters today and needed a lot of coaxing to go say hello Im not sure if it was because the restaurant was heaving or if it was just because they were out of practice. Minnie Mouse came round first and Daniel insisted he wanted to finish his colouring and didnt want a picture so she went round to him and tried to take the crayons out of his hands he was laughing as he just ignored the fact that she wanted a picture and carried on as though nothing was there
I felt bad for Minnie so i posed for a pic instead!!
The chef had arrived to speak to Keira about her food and the mountains of food he bought her was unbelievable Im not sure how much american 4 year olds eat but he bought her enough food to feed her for a few days. Even our server said HOW MUCH FOOD ??
Next up was Goofy now this is one of Dans favourite characters and he still hung back a bit and I was starting to wonder if the kids were not going to interact with characters this year !! They did however pose for a pic so we getting closer to some interaction
Then Donald and finally we got some smiles mainly because Donald had been told about Daniel ignoring Minnie and turned his back on Dan when he tried to talk to him !
Now for the big surprise !! Goofy presented Dan with a customised birthday cake !! The whole room sang happy birthday and then Dan blew out his candles and was asked to cut the cake !
The cake was solid and had clearly been in the fridge so Goofy gave a helping hand.
He gestured that it would be much better if the picture was him not Pluto and Daniel laughed and said Goofy was only his 2nd Favourite character so that wasnt too bad was it !! Goofy had to agree!!
I didnt actually take a picture of the cake before everyone ate it but I was very impressed, the cake was actually a present from Disney as just after ordering the cake the collapse of Crown currency meant hat I had rang up to cancel the order and the manager of Cape may had emailed me various cheaper options which to be honest where not that cheap and whilst I was deciding what to do she had emailed and said they would make a basic choc cake that was gluten free and ic Happy Birthday on it and they would make that a complimentary treat for him !! Im agine my surprise when they bring out the cake that I had origionally ordered complete with pluto decoration !!
I couldnt believe it and had to leave a note of thanks with our server for the manager as it was just an amazing cake!!!

After breakfast which for me was half a croissaint (adventourous or what) we headed home it was baking hot and I needed a quick nap before we went anywhere else. Im not sure what the rest of the party did whilst I slept but they had smiles on their faces when I woke up !!
Shortly after waking up wayne fell asleep on teh sofa so me and teh kids decided to head out without him and let him sleep ! Dans birthday so Dans choice of what to do next and he chose mini golf at Fantasia Gardens he was very excited at the prospect of winning everyone and the competitive talk in the car was so funny.
When we arrived at fantasia gardens it was soo busy and also getting very hot but we joined the line to start the game anyway and I have to say it was a lot of fun!! We have never been here before so the soaking from teh broomsticks came as a surprise Cam missed out as he was just ahead of us and he stood there for ages but no water came !!
The funniest thing though was Ben when he bent over to collect his ball from the last hole and it sprayed him in the face I just love this picture as it was just pure chance i was taking pics as it sprayed I was laughing so hard at him i surprised it actually worked !!
Of course as soon as my other kids saw water spraying they abandoned what they were doing to join in and with 4 balls to be dropped into the hole it went on a while!!
After a sit down enjoying an ice cream and a drink we headed back to see if Wayne was awake yet. As soon as kids saw he was a wake they made him take them into the pool for a bit whilst I made sandwiches and sat watching them from the lounger.
We found a Disney trivia game in teh villa and spent the evening playing that and again teh competion between the boys was rife and had me in stitches at one stage I thought the game may last all night with neither team wanting to accept defeat but eventually with the question What is the tallest building in wdw ?? Waynes team won. I still say it was a trick question and did demand a rematch for another night but they never took us up on the challenge
