We've FALLen for WDW...An October 2010 PTR! New 10/14 TR Link Added

Great photos :thumbsup2 Christmas at Disney is wonderful isn't it :goodvibes

I saw the dates of your Dec. trip and was like hey, we were there the same time! Then I realized the year...we were there around the same time in '08.

Didn't you love the Osborne Lights? They are awesome. I think it's just generally crowded for the lights because it's kind of a small area and everyone wants to see them. But who knows.

I loved the fake snow! :) You are right, it is such a small area and such a big hit!

I love all of the pictures from your trip! :goodvibes When we were on our trip in January, a lot of the Christmas decor was still up, but I want to go sometime during December and get the full effect, especially the Osborne lights! They look amazing! :thumbsup2

I'm doing a BIG HAPPY DANCE right now!!!! Why???

Disney announced FREE DINING for DVR holders!

Want to know something else? The promotion currently ends October 2nd and that's the day we arrive. We JUST got in by the skin of our teeth! :) I have a feeling this offer will be extended to include all the dates of our stay eventually but it includes our vacation and it saves us nearly $600!!!!

:cool1::cheer2::dancer:

We are arriving on the same day you are, October 2nd!!:cool1::cool1::yay::yay: We are staying 8 nights at CBR (we've never been there before!) and got the Free Dining too!!! We are Disney Visa card holders so we got in today! I'm freaking out, I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures, I've always wanted to see Disney at Christmas time.:thumbsup2

That is awesome!!! 8 nights, that's great! :woohoo::woohoo: for FREE DINING! Congratulations! I'm so happy to be staying 7 as it's the longest I will have spent in WDW to date. We thought about staying until Sunday as well but then I decided I would like to have Sunday to wind down and do some laundry and such before it's back to work on Monday.

CBR will probably be the next place we stay, unless of course we somehow have enough $$ to stay deluxe. Oh, if only...:cloud9:

Our trips will be here before we know it! Summer usually flies by for us b/c of our hectic schedule, not that I'm wishing it away as there are many things to look forward to but still. :)

Need to go back and read! I just NEED to sign on here! How the heck did I miss the trip report board for such a long time!!!!!!

But now I am here and going back to read it ALL! Thank god I have a day off tomorrow! ;)

 YAY! You came on over! :cheer2: A day off? That sounds nice! I had a day off last week but it was b/c I was sick. Welcome!!!

Just a little update in the life of Rachael! :)

Thanks to Corysgal I got the idea to start a Disney change bucket! I am using our "souvenir" popcorn bucket from our trip in December and DH and I put all of the change we had in it this weekend. Today I added all of the change from my car into it! :thumbsup2 It's already quite heavy! Here's to hoping it will be a nice "unexpected" amount of cash to bring with us!

I made a "Disney Schedule of Things to Do" each month until we leave. I even listed things I wanted to post here on the DIS. This month I am working on the daily logs for each day we are in Disney. I will post pictures of my binder as soon as these are added.

We finally received our tax $$!!!! :worship: Which is funny b/c I was just reading on the IRS website last night that it could be up to 16 weeks before we saw our $$. :scared1: This means we can pay off both trips and put $$ into savings! I am going to pay off our deposit that I put on the DVR this month and pay the difference of our trip cost and the limit on our DVR as well so next month I can pay off the trip with the DVR and then quickly pay the DVR balance. This way we are getting over $30 in "Dream" dollars for the trip! Another good thing is we can pay off our Vegas trip and have our spending $$ all set before we leave instead of putting it on the CC. This will make such a difference in how much I enjoy the trip.

We are just enjoying the last couple weeks of calmness before summer starts up! We already are booked the last weekend of May and the first weekend of June, plus Vegas is in June and we have an out-of-town wedding in July. We also have 3 graduation parties that we know will happen sometime in June/early July. Did I mention that 4 of our 7 combined brothers and sisters have birthdays in the summer? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the kids I babysit for are just a few short weeks away from summer vacation and I will be watching them all day! Phew! It's going to go by soooo fast! Which I guess I'm okay with as long as we get a couple of beach days in. Plus, the end of summer means our trip to Disney is just around the corner.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SUMMER??

I am looking forward to our one year anniversary which is at the end of this month. We are spending the night in the hotel we had our reception in and we are going to enjoy our bottle of Dom champagne that my uncle got for us and told us to save until our first anniversary. We also are going to a Chicago Cubs game.

Of course I am looking forward to Vegas, I am so ready to get away! The lights will be awesome to see and DH loves Vegas.

We both are already drooling thinking about the Taste of Chicago. YUM!!! For those that don't know what it is it is like the Food & Wine Festival only it is made up of booths of restaurants from around the city. I want to take pictures this year to post and show you! I can already taste the fresh corn on the cob, pierogis, and toasted ravioli! :cloud9:

Sorry to "talk" your ear off!!!

I love the change idea! You're gonna have a busy summer. Ours will be busy too. I think I'm most looking forward to our cruise :) I can't wait to hear about your Vegas trip!

That anniversary celebration sounds like lots of fun. And finally getting to open the Dom! Our anniversary is the 16th and we are trying to decide what to do that night the 15th. I have 3 reservations at 3 different restaurants and have to decide.

I got a new park bag, I got a new park bag, I got a new park bag!

hipster.jpg

The VB hipster! We go to Vegas next month and I wanted a bag for there so I didn't have to carry my purse around on my arm all day walking the strip. This way the bag will also be on my side and I can keep an eye on it, too! I looked at the mini-Hipster and was debating getting it instead but it would never be big enough for everything I need to carry in the parks. DH did make a point by saying that with the bigger bag I may try to fill it more but I won't want it to be any heavier so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm excited to try it out in Vegas. I just worry that it will pull on my shoulder and cause me pain but I don't think it will be heavy enough to do that.

We do a change jar every year. Except now I have to hide it because our youngest (who will be 22) always covers up my Disney sign and either writes "Markie's college fund or beer fund." :lmao:

Love the new bag.

I'm not looking forward to a whole lot this summer. Mark is having surgery in July; we will go to Brookfield Zoo and see the new bear exhibit while he is recuperating so that will be nice (I understand it is awesome). We've never done Taste of Chicago, but do want to do F&W one of these days.

Cute bag!! I have a hipster & thought it was a great size for a park bag, but it hurt my shoulder a bit... Love the pattern - that's the same pattern as my new VB backpack that I used all week at Disney. :thumbsup2

 Your son sounds like he's got quite the sense of humor! If I still lived at home my change jar wouldn't last a week b/c my brother's would help themselves and then just point their finger at each other instead of themselves. :rotfl:

We were at BFZ on Good Friday and didn't get to see any of the bears b/c they were being transitioned into their new exhibit. I know it is supposed to open sometime this month, it may have already opened. They did open a great new eatery called the Bison Prairie Grill or something like that. They had great food! I love the zoo. I want to see LPZ sometime, I haven't been in years.

What type of things did you put in your bag? That is one thing I am worried about. The Vegas trip will be a good trial to see how it will affect me. If I notice it hurting after a long period of wear, I will probably switch between using my hipster and DH wearing the dreaded fanny pack. DH also usually wears shorts that have pockets so he may be able to carry something like the camera to take some of the weight off of my shoulder. :confused3 We'll see.
