We've decided on POR

After much soul (and resort price) searching, I have decided to reserve a King Bed room at POR for 8/13-8/18. I got the rate of $110.00 AP rates. It was a choice between DTD Hilton or Star Island Resort for about the same amount per night. Since I am hoping for AP rates for October hitting in the next week or two ( I have reservations at AKL for a girls weekend for MNSSHP), hopefully I will get good use out of this AP that I am still waiting on to buy.

Anyway.. I digress. Has this resort been recently refurbished? We stayed there when it was known as Dixie Landing about four years ago. Should I ask for a particular section. Is one more romantic then the others (just me and DH for five glorious nights)

Would anyone have suggested a different resort on or off site for that price. Thanks.

POR is awesome. I would be staying there in October is the FTP hadn't given me a chance to try WL.

I would guess that most people would say the mansions are more romantic, but I like the ambience and feel of the bayou rooms.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. We have stayed there since '92 and just love it there. We enjoy the Mansions but just as happy with AB.

Some one on this board today said she just returned and everything was super.

i loved POR
bld's 14, 15 & 18 are close to food court and main bld, only a 5 minute walk- we were in bld 15 and a 2 minute walk from the quiet pool, which is nice for couples as there aren't as many kids around
