which is better? DH wants to go to a waterpark on our disney trip (if it's warm enough! It will be december after all!) and we were planning on doing blizzard beach but I just saw a special on the travel channel and they showed some cool rides at wet and wild...

a 70's disco ride and something called the black hole? and well, is wet and wild more fun than a disney water park?

i never gone to eather water park but i have driven by wet in wild on the way to other places its realy not that big.

But it sprobably ALOT cheaper.

I think both are good!

But, we did Disney for our honeymoon in December of '06 and it was too cold to think about swimming (even if the water is heated!) The good news is that you can wear jeans to the park on some days....such a rarity lol

been to both... along with Typhoon lagoon... my vote goes to typhoon lagoon. Typhoon has theme, and shade along with a really fun wave pool. the lazy river is just right and have a great mix of sun and shade. lazy river at BB has that blast of cold water and too much sun, wet and wild has a louse lazy river.

Wet n Wild is ghetto...as a florida ressie I can tell you this its like a joke-most people down here I talk to never go there-us included. We go to Disney or now Aquatica-and FYI security stinks and there we are shooting there afew months ago involving a school field trip-we never go there-yuck!:scared:

W&W has a lot of good slides, but it is wide open, and hot. It also is very flat, which means every slide involves a hike up a set of wooden or metal stairs. It is simply not a very pretty park. That being said, you can get deals, and it can be less crowded that the Disney parks.

I hated W&W when we went, a very long time ago. I have stuck to Disney waterparks ever since. They have great rides and great theming, winners all round really!

Spend the extra money and go to TL or BB. W&W is some fun slides, but thats it. Nothing special, nothing themed, nothing just slides in the middle of some streets around it.

I'm one of the folks that actually likes Wet and Wild.

It's not themed at all other than having a "water park" theme, but it's old school.

I believe it pre-dates Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

I'm not sure I would describe it as "ghetto" or "unsafe".

thanks for all the opinions everyone! I think I would kind of feel like a "traitor" if I didn't do a disney waterpark.. and I've been to both and like them and the theming of them.....

I guess I"ll talk with dh about it and the suggestions on this thread and see what he has to say. thanks again!

I have to agree with safety issues over at Wet and Wild. A couple we are freinds with were mugged in the parking lot. They stole their money, backpacks and even their towels. They left with their lives and that is all that was important. Apparantly there is no security in the lot.
