Westjet and Air Canada Flight prices

I have two trips this year that I have to book flights for. One is the end of July for myself, my partner and my 3 kids from Halifax to either Toronto or Hamilton and the other is just my partner and I to go to WDW cool1:) on September 29th from Halifax.

Does anyone have any idea when I might expect sales for either of these two times? I have heard that 2-3 months out is when one might see decreases in prices.

I would much prefer Westjet, partly because I have a WJ Mastercard and also because I like them better than AC. If I book our summer flight with WJ, then that will be more savings for my Disney trip flight.

Any tips would be appreciated.

If someone was able to predict seat sales they'd make a lot of money

In my years of traveling I've never seen any seen any predictability in when and where seat sales are released. My advice is to set a price you're willing to pay based on what you've seen recently and then as soon as you see a price lower that it, book it. And then don't check prices again until after you travel lest a better sale come out and you regret not getting that price.

It's been awful lately. They both have identical prices. I check daily for seat sales.

Sign up for email from both and like/follow them on Facebook and Twitter. I have found many, (too many ), airfare deals that way. There is also kayak you can set up a fare watch with them for your dates.

The best way really is to check regularly and check the specials link on their websites.

Sign up for their emails. Air Canada usually goes about 4-5 months out (I think right now they are offering some deals into April/May). Westjet not usually that generous about 1-2 months out.
