WestJet… why did they do this?

I had travel credits to use by April. I booked flights and a few days later WJ send me an email saying they are cancelling out flights due to “adjustments of our flight schedule” and “we are unable to provide an alternative flight option”

There are many flights available going and coming back. Plus, 2 weeks later the same flights are still on their website available to book.

I am missing something?

Holy smoke I would be on the phone P.D.Q. and asking them what the heck are they doing.
I wonder if posting to them via social media like Twitter would help?
So sorry this happened to you.
Best wishes for a positive outcome Hon.
Hugs

WJ's callback is much better now as well. You can get a call back sometimes within the hour or less now. Seems like they have either stabilized their call volumes or have onboarded more agents.

I called Westjet early last week and arranged a callback. It was scheduled for about 2 hours after I booked it, and I got the call within about 5/10 minutes of the scheduled time. I was impressed.

I was annoyed at WestJet because of all the cancelled flights and lack of notifications, but I have to say they are better then air Canada.

The request a call back feature works well and they can usually work things out for you, even if it takes some time (and occasionally asking to have your issue escalated).

Air Canada has been a nightmare. We had a fully refundable cruise package booked through them. We decided to cancel. There is no option to cancel online, no ability to request a call back. And their phone lines are only open from 9am-7pm and I think not at all on Sunday. I called them right at 9am and sat on hold for 5 hours before someone answered. We cancelled our cruise 2 1/2 months ago and still have not seen the refund.

Made me appreciate WestJet a little more lol.

:thumbsup2Yes, and it’s such a relief. I actually got straight through to an agent yesterday after a modest hold time of 28 minutes. It actually didn’t even give me an option to book a call-back, which is originally what I intended to do. The transaction was handled very smoothly and I got the exact result I wanted, albeit prices for my dates were gob-smacking.

And this marks the final resolution of all the various travel bank credits that have gone in-and-out of the account several times over the past two years. :goodvibes Now all that’s left to see is if the flights actually fly as currently scheduled.

Stay optimistic! Things have really settled down and you should be in good shape. Where are you flying out of and when?
