Anyone ever stay here? We got in on the 2 night/3 day free military deal. Will be there end of Sept.

it's an okay resort but the parking is the worst and the sales pitch is so high awful. If you are going to the parks get back early.

We stayed there for a week at the end of August. We had a great time.

We loved there resort.....we used the mini golf (great course), paddle boats, pool, and tennis court. Our room was spacious (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) with a great view of Turkey Lake where we could watch the gators swimming around in the morning. We received daily housekeeping as well. For location, I highly recommend you request a room in building 500. Its close to almost every main amenity.

We never ONCE had a problem with parking. We were always able to park right next to our building. We even commented at the end of our stay that we had no idea what people complained about as far as parking woes went, as we had read that lament more than once on Tripadvisor and these boards.

You don't have to go through the sales pitch with your military deal, so DO NOT agree to a free breakfast, sales presentation, resort preview or whatever they happen to be calling it at the moment. Just say NO (and mean it). Otherwise, expect to give up 4 hours of your precious holiday time to be bamboozled by a host of slimy sales people.

The resort is great. The sales people are not.

We own at Westgate Resorts and Spa and have a great vacation there every year. The problem with parking is the workers on there golf carts. We have never had any other problems during our stay. Enjoy. Request section 500 if u can.

I've stayed at the Lakes many times over the past 12 years, but last year's trip was the last time. As others have said, parking is abysmal. And that's during off-season! I can't imagine what it must look like during peaks. If you aren't back to your building by 8PM most nights forget about getting a spot anywhere near where you are staying.

Many of the buildings are showing their age and are in dire need of refurbishment.

Security is extremely poor. My car (along with several other guests' cars) was vandalized last year. Orange County Sheriff's Deputies showed up to take a police report within 15 minutes of my call. Westgate security took over an hour. I never received a copy of my report, they never looked for video surveillance (if there was any), and I certainly never received anything as simple as an apology from management.

Goodbye Westgate, Hello Bonnet Creek!

first now that this Westgate is closer to Seaworld than WDW - it is also pretty close to Universal studios (take the road in front of it).

stayed there once in a 3-bedroom and never again. there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling and they never once in the week I was there came to fix it - despite calling every morning....

that say think Westgate is trying to change again - if they would teach their sales people to be nice instead of pests - they would be better off.

that say my visit in Dec to Westgate villa - ended up in the Town Center not the villages was excellent.

everyone was nice - no one tried to sell me anything - no problems with parking.

I don't know anything about Westgate Lakes, but we did stay at Westgate Town Center (one mile from WDW gate over by AK). We too had a great stay there with no pressure to buy. In fact, that was our our first ever offsite stay and we enjoyed it so much that I'll be staying offsite again at Bonnet Creek in May and again in Dec (not sure where, but probably Bonnet Creek or Westgate Town Center again).

I am a Westgate Lakes timeshare owner. I always enjoyed it...until last year. Last year we did a short 4day 3night rental at Town Center in Kissimmee. We LOVED it. From there we went to Westgate Lakes for our annual week. There was no comparison. WG Lakes was really showing its age. My DD6 kept asking why the Lakes didnt have a movie theater in it like Town Center. She didnt like the golf course at the Lakes, but loved it at Town center. So this year, I am booking my entire stay at Town Center. The Lakes aren't bad, but just not as nice and updated as the units in Town Center.

We stayed there two or three years ago. It was just OK, but the location was terrific for Universal. Our teen could stay at the park alone and call when he was ready to be picked up. It was only about a ten minute drive to the pickup location.

I would definitely consider staying there again if we were going to Universal. For WDW, you could find better choices, but it sounds like the price was right.
