Our DCL cruise is not until November, but I have an upcoming southern Caribbean cruise in June, and a few weekend summer trips coming up.

So, I'm trying to have everything figured out for the DCL trip and just put it on the back burner until the time comes.

As for my original question-
Here's what I'm thinking,

Cozumel- Tulum ruins
Grand Cayman - starfish beach/stingray city/reef
Falmouth- Dunns River Falls and Bobsled Jamaica
Castaway Cay- beach and bikes.(debating on bringing my wet suit bc water will be cold!)

My one concern is with Cozumel, the travel time to the Tulum ruins is so long. My son will be 6 and I don't know if that distance/time will bore him. Any ideas for other Cozumel shorter excursions? I don't want a beach break, but am considering maybe a dolphin swim. I'd like to be back on the ship a little earlier than most to be able to enjoy the aqua duck with lower crowds.

In Cozumel for that excursion, there are two things I would offer up in considering that with a 6 year old: the ferry ride over can be quite choppy, especially in November. The ruins themselves, while interesting for adults, would be quite boring to a young one. It also is very hot throughout the ruins until you crest the hill and can get a breeze off the ocean. (ok that is three things...LOL) The travel time is about an hour and a half (if I remember correctly) and they stop at a store for the usual hawking of merchandise, so it does break it up a little.
My suggestion would be a shorter excursion that stays on the island of Cozumel and does not travel over to Playa Del Carmen. Any of the beach excursions are great, the ruins on the island are closer (San Gervasio), if you really want to see Mayan ruins. Also Chankanaab park is a lot of fun and I am sure your son would enjoy some of the offerings there. HTH
