Hi everyone! I just went to the WJ site to check out the seat availabilty for my March 09 flight to Orlando. The site shows the first 8 rows and the last 2 rows unavailable for seat selection. Have that many people reserved seats already? Or does WJ block those seats for some reason? Anyone with some insider info? Thanks

I work with a girl that also works at WJ so I will ask..I would think they block some seats for Airport Check in for those that don't pre-reserve?

Ran in the same problem recently. Paid to pre-select seats and ended up getting row 21 on a 24 row plane. Got to the airport and asked the check in people - they block them off for people who do the 24 hour prior check in online or those that arrive at the airport 90 minutes + prior to their flight who haven't checked in online yet. So won't waste my money next time and will do online check in.

Thanks, I may wait for the 24hr window. I don't care where we sit as long as the 4 of us are together. On the website they say if you want to sit with your family prebook your seat! I would hope they would keep kids with an adult.

We'll definitely be using the new option of paying to select seats at booking time -- even if it means we're at the back of the plane. This past May we were 3 travelling together (me, DH, and our 2 yr old DS) and they split us up on our trip back. There were at least 2 other families with really young kids that they did this to as well on our flight.

Make sure that you check-in right at 24 hours then. If many people have chosen to pre-select their seats (and pay for it), there may not be many pairs (or more) of seats to chose from. If you cannot get seats together, and have to ask people to shift around, those who paid for their seats may not be too accommodating.

I was wondering the same thing, when I bought the flights I declined pre paying the seat selection, but after reading some info on the website, it seems as though seat selection is free if you do it online before you leave, am I understanding correctly??:confused3

Its free from 24hrs and less before the flight. Anyother time you have to pay to preselect your seat. I am most likely going to prebook and pay the fee to keep us together. I am still wondering why half the plane is unavailable to book? The flight is not until March 09.

Thanks, could someone tell me how to get to the seat availability area of the website, I can't seem to find it.

Hi, click on Westjet guest, then itinerary lookup, you will need a confirm #. You can then click on change seats. You should get a map of the seating. Good luck, let me know how you make out.

Hmm, the only options I have, after entering my C# are PRINT, PASSPORT INFORMATION, CANCEL FLIGHT, RESEND and CHANGE FLIGHT??Is it at the top in the "manage" folder?:confused3

Ok, totally frustrating, I don't have that option, I wonder why some do and some don't, I'd just like to check if the plane is full or not...to see if I should pre select seats:confused3 thanks anyhow

Hi, we flew Westjet to WDW in July and I did not use the pick a seat, pay a seat, or any other seat selection. I did try to check in 24 hours before flight, and ran into the same problem with the website. I called WJ and the gent on the line said we already have reserved seats. My question was if we were all together, and we were. My DH sat across the aisle from the three of us, but we did not have to pick a seat beforehand.
Same on the way back, too. We were all together, DH sitting across the aisle. WJ has rows with seats three across, so us being a family of 4, one had to sit away, and DH was the man.
I would not be concerned, I did not book anything, and we were together.:)
