West Jet & Air Canada 50% off flights

Ok...I need some thoughts from the experts on this...

I did not think I would be considering booking flights this far out, but the pricing for the seat sale seems pretty good.

Going to WDW September 18-27, hopefully for FD in Family Suite at ASMu. We are booked and confirmed for the stay.

Two direct flights with Air Canada pricing is $404 CDN per person for the 6 of us...how good is that? It feels pretty good!

I always thought we would go from Buffalo, but I would have thought $300 pp would be great from there..which nets our closer to $360 with the deflated exchange rate these days..plus the hassle of driving to Buffalo.

Thoughts? Quick thoughts ;)

Thanks,

Can all six of you with luggage get in one car? That was the icing on the cake to seal the deal out of Toronto for us. We would have needed two cars to transport all seven of us to Buffalo. So it is a real treat to fly out of Toronto (we have always gone to Buffalo before....but this time our party grew!!!) I figure we have just broken even since we won't have to park cars at YYZ. (Our loving family will get us to the airport!!!)

Is there a code that you need to put in?

When I checked it was $4,600.00 from Toronto. I know it's March break (Marchh 11-21), but holy cow.

Southwest is $2,100.00 from Buffalo.

Yeah....it looks like most of spring break is blocked out. Can you play with your dates at all?
If you leave wed march 10th and come home thurs march 19th you can fly for 360.00 taxes in per person. Just a thought.;)

It really stinks we booked early for our april trip and could have saved over $1000. but what do you do!

You might able to get some money back if you booked on Westjet and assume they still have the sale tickets left. I got $800 credit from Westjet from our last Christams trip after they put the tickets on sale.

Did you have to pay a penalty in order to change to the seat sale fares?

Just an FYI to shop around before you lock in.....I got better prices than Air Canada is offering WITH the sale, with NW, regular price, out of Detroit. We live equadistant from both Detroit and Toronto.

I'm paying $1500 for 5 of us in April on NW out of Detroit. I was lucky enough to have paid in full before the exchange rate tanked, so that's in both U.S and CDN funds....

Yes, the penalty was $40 per ticket and I believe Westjet increased it to $50.
The $800 credit I got was after the penalty.

We'll, I booked last night at $405 per person out of Toronto in September.

I didn't want to play the exchange rate game as I waited for a better price to come from the Buffalo options...the only downside is that our dates are now locked which may limit my flexability as it relates to Room discounts or FD next year.

Whatever it means, it means we are going to Disney. I could cancel my WDW reservation and get a refund...not so much with AC: )

If you live near Detroit ....Northwest does have some great fares. However the drive for me to get to them is just to far.
Also do you have to pay the new baggage fee (15 for the first,25 for the second?)That is an extra 30 plus u.s per ticket now if you only check one bag each round trip. So that brings it prety darn close to the A/C seat sale.
A/C lets you check two fee bags per person and I plan on using every spec of space that I can.

I wouldn't worry to much. Just a hunch but I am pretty sure that you will fall into the FD dates. We already have the FD booked on the bounceback offer from this past August when we were there. The code for the general public usually comes out in April so keep your eyes open. ;)

I live in Oakville so flying out of Pittsburgh or Detroit is almost the same distance. I flew out of Pittsburgh 2 years ago and Detroit last year. There are $63.00 flights from Pittsburgh and $59.00 flights from Detroit if you are flexible on dates. There are no baggage fees with Southwest either.
