Did you have a good view?. A quiet room? Was it close or far to walk to get out onto the boardwalk?

We were very happy with ours. Top floor, overlooking the gardens and Epcot. A bit of a walk maybe, but it is such a beautiful resort!

Initially they tried to put us in a smoking room---not happy with that! I called, and they moved us to 1338. A nice room overlooking the quiet pool. Very quaint. It was on the ground floor. The walk to the Boardwalk was brief and relaxing. We liked that room.

We had the same. Absolutely loved it. Made BWI our favorite resort after staying there. Loved being able to walk to Epcot and MGM as well.

We've stayed at BWI twice & been pleased with both rooms. Each time we requested an upper floor with a garden view and got it. We were never too far from the elevators or the BW, & we could see the high fireworks from Illuminations from our balcony on our 2nd stay. It's a lovely resort! :wizard:

Our room at BWI was out the lobby, first right, down a view doors, then on the right. Our view was of the loading/unloading area, but it didn't bother us at all. There were flowers and a fence blocking us, and it was never noisy. We could be on the boardwalk in a flash (just down a flight of stairs past the Bellevue Lounge). We were also a short walk to the wonderful quiet pool. Our location was prime and we didn't care about the view since we spent little time in our room.

I stayed there 1 night before we moved over to BWV a couple of years ago. We got a standard room next to the walkway to the bus stop. People were walking by and talking all the time. If it wasn't just one night, I would have requested a change. I did not make any requests other than non-smoking. I've heard the best standard views are the ones in the courtyard facing Epcot.

The standard BWI rooms are gorgeous. They are huge and have extremely pretty decor--at least I thought so. I think they are the prettiest of all the deluxe resort rooms, actually. We had a standard view overlooking a courtyard that was very nice. Very good view. Be careful of bad smelling rooms, at the Boardwalk, however. Not sure why, but they seem to have a problem with that...I think its because some of the wings are over the restaurants. When we stay there again I will actually request that the room smell okay!!! :) Otherwise, it is a fantastic resort...one of my favorites at WDW (after GF, of course, or I wouldn't be nicknamed Grand Floridian girl!!! ). Out of all the deluxes, my favorites are GF, AKL and BWI, in that order.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm feeling encouraged. Booked a standard room - just couldn't bring myself to spring for anything more expensive. I'll be with a friend who has never been to WDW and, of course, want her to be wowed by the whole place. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we get a great room (and at least I know what I could get if it is available).

Do all BWI rooms have a balcony, even the standard rooms? Thank you.

We were in a standard view room on the 5th floor and the view was amazing! Down below us were the rose gardens and quiet pool, then when we looked straight out we could see Epcot and Illuminations. The walk to the elevator was short we could be on the boardwalk in just a couple of minutes. I was happy not to be overlooking the boardwalk area, I've heard it can be noisy with all the people and boats coming and going. Our view was very quiet and romantic. :)

I want to (hesitantly) answer...yes. To the best of my memory (we were just visiting there while staying at BC in November, but I'm always afraid there is one wing that doesn't have them so I want to be tentative). We had a huge balcony when we stayed at the Boardwalk, and it looked as if all of the rooms around us had balconies as well (in varying sizes).

I LOVED the standard room I had at the BWI. We were Epcot view, top floor, King bed, corner room. We also had a very short walk to the elevators. I actually prefer the Epcot view to the Boardwalk view. Now, you could possibly end up with a view of the Main entrance/driveway so if the view is really important, request a courtyard view. This will most likely get you an Epcot view.

Just don't take 4291, 4293, 4295, 4297 and so on, we had a view of the roof to the covered walkway to the bus stop. I had to stand on a chair to see over it or lay on the ground to see under it. It was very frustrating. It was Christmas week, so I'm sure they were fully booked so we didn't complain. The room was quiet, only heard a group of people one night when they were waiting to get there cars from the valet at 2:00 am.
