Were we lucky or have things changed...Wishes Cruise

We (my family of 4), my mom (karensi) and inlaws are leaving for Disney on October 21 and staying at our timeshare at OLCC
In speaking to my dm this morning, I mentioned we should have tried to book the Wishes or Illuminations cruise since my inlaws have never been on (they haven't been to Disney in over 40 years). Well, my mother called and we got the Wishes cruise for October 21 (the night we arrive).
I remember last year and prior years calling right at the correct date in the morning to get the Illuminations or Wishes cruise. Have things changed or were we just lucky? Anyway, so happy!

Also, do all the boats have music now? The last time we were on the Wishes cruise was 2 years ago and the music was piped in.
Does it depend on how much you pay or what kind of boat you ask for?
We asked for a Wishes cruise and they said bottled water and soda was provided. I don't remember this from last time either.

The cruises are much more expensive now, so not nearly as popular. I have heard that not all the boats have the music.

YIKES , I wasn't aware that some didn't have the music.
Would they know if I am getting a boat with music or not already? I guess we will have to call and find out? Thank you.

No..the 200 dollar boat does not have music and it seats 8 instead of 10-12. Last August we had the larger boat but I've booked one for august 16th and only the smaller one was available....hope we are not going to miss the music too much!
