Were there any characters that you HAD to see, but didn't?

When DS and I where there in Sept. 2003 we looked all over for Donald Duck, even askec a CM a couple time and told he was not here that day, the time we saw him was in the parades or in a show. Well that means I'll have to plan another trip to WDW then.

Kronk -- but I doubt we will ever get him. Love that movie, but apparently we are in the minority.:( The farther away we get from the DVD release, the less likely he'll be in the rotation.

We saw loads of characters this past vacation. We wanted to see Belle and Beast but it rained and Belle's story time was cancelled and we never saw Beast. My mom was lucky enough to see them both TOGETHER. She took a picture but didn't get any autographs. I had the characters sign fabric pieces and I am working on a quilt for my daughter. She had a blast, it was her first trip.~Mandy

my dd is always looking for Capt. Phoebus!
I saw Phoebus two weeks ago at the Big Hat at Disney-MGM Studios. :) I saw him there twice, one time with Quasimodo and once with Frollo. The only other time I ever seen him was at Mickey's Halloween Party. I was thrilled to see Phoebus out, as he is pretty rare!

The second time I went to DW, my first son was 2. He wanted to see Donald Duck so bad. We couldn't find him anywhere and when we asked, they said that he wasn't around much because of the size of person (small) that fits in the costume. I don't even remember them asking for our address, but about 2 weeks after we got home, my son recieved an 8 x 10 portrait personally autographed for my son from Donald. If I wasn't already hooked to Disney, that did it for me. It was a magical moment. That was in 1995...we have seen him several times since.

I have been to Walt Disney World 6 times in my entire life. I have never seen Donald Duck nor Goofy outside of a parade or a show. I am making it a point to see both of them during my July trip.
Get PS for Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK...it's hosted by Donald but also has Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy :)

We always miss the one we're looking for: Jiminy Cricket!
Got him last week! We were in line in Epcot when he had to go, but the "Characters on Parade" bus came around again and we got him then :) DD was SO happy!!

We actually had a fantastic trip for characters! She got 50-55 different autographs, plus 5 repeats! Gonna have to find a checklist of all of them somewhere so we know who else to look for! Anyone know of a list?

Thanks Bonzo great link! We can't seem to find Mary Poppins (we see her in the parade but want pic with her). We find her at Disneyland, but not at Disneyworld. Never thought to look at Epcot for her.
Got Mary Poppins this time, too! We got her autograph in the Hall of Fame in Toon Town. We stood in the Cinderella and Mice line, but when we got in there, Mary Poppins and the Penguins were there, too! She also appeared several times in FantasyLand....we saw her across from the tea cups while we were standing in line :)

my son loves the characters from Aladdin. We didn't see any of them on our last trip. I'm making a point of finding them on our next trip. We are def going to Epcot and hunting thenm down. :p
I'll make a list of our characters we haven't seen and try to find them. But Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie are on the top of the list.
Aladdin, Genie, and Jasmine are now regulars in AdventureLand in MK! Look for then near Aladdin's Magic Carpets! Genie did a separate session, then came over and joined the Aladdin/Jasmine session :)

A checklist is a great idea - I'd love to have one too. Wouldn't it be fun to have a list with a value system - say you get more points for the rare autographs that the pretty easy to score ones.

A good tip to know is that you can ask any CM to find out for you if and where a certain character will be appearing that day.
You can ask in Guest Services in any park, or ask any CM with a phone to call the character line for you :) (They do not give out that number...) They can find out where/when any character will be appearing!! I've been going for years and was just told about this character line by a CM this trip :)

we Needed to see Beauty and the Beast and really lucked out. It was freezing that day but we waited and waited. It was so worth it. The other top characters we wanted were Mickey, Minnie and Goofy which we saw alot. We saw alot of characters this past January and were very happy - the only two we really wanted to see and didn't:

Dopey and Grumpy:(

I wanted a picture of them with my kids because I always call my youngest Dopey (anything but) and the teen Grumpy(sometimes but that's a teen right?)

We saw Jiminy Cricket last week in Italy at Epcot (along with Pinocchio, Gepeddo, and the cat). In fact, DH bought me a WDW Mother's Day picture frame and put a great pic of the boys with JC in it.

We also saw Genie in Morocco. He happened to be walking out of a building in the back as we walked by. Later, we saw him with Aladdin and Jasmine in Adventureland in MK (the lines were always long there).

We saw some Pooh characters in England.

Wendy and Peter Pan were totally tucked out of the way on the walkway near the hub just behind Liberty Square.

We enjoyed seeing the characters but I refused to stand in line for autographs or photos. If we stumbled upon them, then we would get autographs or photos, otherwise we just took a look and headed to the next ride! This was our first trip and we did all 4 parks in 5 days so character waiting would have been a big time waster.

Well..... in our family we don't consider waiting to meet characters a time waster.... different strokes for different folks!! I would probably give up a ride or two in order to get character pictures/autographs! My kids and I LOVE the characters!!.......P

When we were in MK last Feb, my son didn't go on one ride. he just wanted to see the characters, get their autogrpahs and have a picture taken with them. My mother couldn't believe it. We are going back in DEc and all he talks about is seeing the characters.
