Congrats Nancy and the west coast team!!! Can't wait to hear your insight and tips!!!!! :goodvibes :cheer2:

Congratulations!!! I'm listening to this week's show at work right now and just heard the announcement! I just knew Nancy would get it! (And I didn't even know you had tried out!) :cool1: I see you all over our CA DLR boards and you have a lot of great information to share. I'm sorry to Wendy & Tony that I'm not already familiar with you, but I can't wait to hear you on the show. I know you're all going to do a great job representing our side of the Disney spectrum!

I'm so excited for you all! :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone :wave2:
Your all so sweet!!! Thanks guys!! I can't wait to report in!! I love Disneyland!! :cool1: I usually don't post in the podcast section more the DVC boards. I also love the Budget Board. However, I am addicted to the show and I am still shocked I was picked :hyper:

Yay- I'm so glad you posted in Wendy! Looks like you'll be spending a lot more time over here with us now. :beach:

Now all we have to do is find Tony....

Get to know all of them - they are great people!!!!:grouphug:

Congrats and do apologize to Pete and Walter for the cold & rainy weather!

Yes, I was picked. No, I have never posted before. Yes, I have been lurking around here for many years. I have emailed and called the podcast before. I am so excited I was picked. I hope you will all welcome me into your great and friendly community. I am truly thankful for all of the great advice I have received from these boards, especially the Tonga Toast:hyper:

I am a 5th grade teacher in Anaheim, CA. Many of my students' parents are hard working CMs. I live in Brea, CA (about 10-15 minutes away from DL). My wife is a teacher as well, and I have a seven year old DS who loves his rotund mini Mickey (he bought it at MouseGear in Epcot last summer).

We have had DL passes for the past ten years, and usually go once a week. I plan on doing whatever Pete tells me to do in regards to the podcast. I will be his humble servant. I will share all of my family's tips and tricks to having a great Disneyland vacation. I grew up in San Diego, so I can also help out with any of that city's attractions.

My family and I love DL and WDW, but as teachers, we can't always afford all the great stuff it has to offer. If we could, we'd stay at the Grand Californian every weekend and spend every vacation at the Yacht and Beach Club...someday.

I promise to do the disboarders proud. I'll let ya all know tomorrow night how dinner went.

Your newest (and most excited) disboarder,
Tony (oc_tony)

Welcome Tony. Sounds like you have a lot to offer on DL and the surrounding area. I'm looking forward to hearing all of you on the podcast.

Welcome West Coast Podcast Team!!!

And a special shout out to Tony, a new recruit to the borg......I mean boards!

I am so glad you finally got on to post! I know the gang here is going to give you as warm a welcome as they have given me! I've been extremely blessed to know these folks!

For those who don't know me, I hail from Burbank, CA (about 12 blocks from the Walt Disney Studios) - born and raised in St, Louis MO. I went to DL when I was 6 and fell in love with It's a Small World and 101 Dalmations. That was my only childhood experience with Disney.

I started going to WDW on my own at age 23 - my first real "destination vacation" that I paid for as a working adult - I'm a nuclear medicine technologist by trade. I stayed at the Poly on a Delta Dream Vacation and I fell in love with WDW for all of the reasons a sensible adult falls in love with a place - the quality of the vacation, the beauty of the surroundings, etc. Then, came the collecting, and the craziness. Then came DVC in 1993 - Old Key West. Then came a second night job at the Disney Store - 3.5 years as a CM. Then, Disneyana conventions. Then, DL again for the 40th Anniversay Convention. Wow - what a place.

Fast forward to 1998 - I come out to visit (my husband of 7 years) for our first date - at Disneyland! I bought DL APs in 1999, knowing I would move out here in 2000. My husband's AP soon followed and he started appreciating the place (especially after doing some backstage tours at WDW). We came all the time - did all the holidays, even the crazy New Year's Eve!!!! Then came the wedding.

We were married at the Grand Californian in Dec 2001. Had our reception there, as well. We have really celebrated much of the goodness in our lives at DL. Our children - ages 3.5 and 2, have been going to DL since a week after their births. They are queue line pros and my oldest can even read a park map!

I've been onstage/backstage/and all the areas in between - both on my own and on tours. I've hung out in some of the most unusual places and I've been blessed with those experiences. I am constantly amazed of the interesting things I've done in Disneyland and WDW - just because I knew to ask, or was in the right place at the right time. I've also really come to understand the corporate side of the business of the parks, having also worked for a corporate sponsor and been to Disney University Corporate Training sessions. I am surprised that I know way too much about how theme parks/hotels/Disney are built, managed, maintained, and the politics of such!

I'm completely a detail and a history girl. What strikes me as different about people, shows, rides, or attraction patterns. When you do something, what happens? What things are located where? Where can I eat what? Why is something where it is?

I'm also not afraid to ask any questions until I get the answers I need. I'm "old-school Disney CM" trained and I know what's considered to be the acceptable answer and I don't stop until I get that.

I just hope I can translate that to y'all!

Congratulations also to Wendy and Tony (and welcome to the boards :goodvibes ). I am really looking forward to all three of your DL additions to the Podcasts. :cheer2:

Welcome to the West Coast team, looking forward to your reports on the podcast!:cheer2:

Glad to see that you all checked in! I know we'll continue to see Nancy out here (she was already out here :)), but I would love to continue to hear from Wendy and Tony on this board as well as on the PodCast, if you are up for it. I am excited to have DL be part of the PodCast since my family is more likely to get there in a year than WDW, no matter how much we enjoy WDW too.

Have fun taping today!

How cool! Congrats west coast Podcast team:cheer2:Looking forward to hearing all the latest from DL:thumbsup2
