It was just dh and I, sorry no pictures. We had to get the most out of dh TIW card before it expired after all.

Cape May Buffet
Monday November 28- We were staying at the Beach Club, so we went to the Cape May Buffet. Wow, was this place crowded. The soups were of course the new england clam chowder and the special was pumpkin bisque. Dh had this and liked it.

The fish was corvina. The peel and eat cold shrimp were so much bigger than when we were there in May. I am more of the landlubber, so I took to that side. The carved beef was pretty good too. Last time it was inedible. I also loved the soft rolls, seems to have a garlic butter glaze on top. Dh loved his usual corn bread and crab legs.

Desserts were the usual. I like the flan best but wish they had berries with it instead of chocolate curls.

Our server was really sweet and nice. I think we had her before too. We are going back again in May. Its always on our to do list.

Tuesday November 28

Le Cellier - Lunch

Dh ordered the duck meatball appetizer. There were 3 meatballs. He said they were very good. I really didnt want to try them. I ordered a bowl of the wonderful cheddar cheese soup. I knew dh would be wanting some of this.

Our server came out with 3 different name tags. It was strange. Maybe this was part of his "routine/act". But at the end I dont know if I was confused or annoyed or just didnt know what to call/address him as anymore.

For the main course. I ordered the Ceaser Salad with Chicken. I know I am in Le Cellier and should be ordering beef, but I didnt feel like it. Dh ordered the burger. He said it was a great burger. My salad was good, not great.

For dessert I ordered the whiskey cake. It was o.k. Kind of a small serving. I think it had a strawberrry slice or 2 raspberries with it.

Also we asked our server about the other rolls, the rye and multigrain as they are different shapes now. He said only the pretzel bread is from the original supplier, hence the difference.

It was an o.k meal, we are going to the world in May and I dont know if we will make an adr for here or skip it next time. Somehow I cant see eating cheese soup when its 90 out etc.

Hollywood Brown Derby - dinner

Dh and I both had the lobster bisque soup for the appetizer. It was really good.

For the main course. I ordered a chicken dish. It was stuffed with spinach,prosciutto and cheese I think. It was kind of dry. The side dish was fava bean hash and I think that it was a little spicy/salty. I didnt eat much of it.

Dh ordered the filet and said it was really good.

For dessert I ordered the seasonal cobbler. Our server told me it had raspberries,blueberries and strawberries in it. It was really good. Dh got the the grapefruit cake. He liked it as usual.

Wednesday November 30

Grand Floridian Cafe - lunch

We always love going here to see the gingerbread house and christmas tree.
For the appetizer I got a new salad that they just introduced about 2 weeks ago the server said. I know it was winter greens and maybe pears and walnuts. I really cant remember but it was really good. Dh had the special soup of the day - pumpkin bisque. He said it was good too.

For the main course Dh ordered the Grand Burger. He has had it before and said it was good. I ordered the pasta dish with grilled chicken. The sauce of the day was asiago cheese with peas and prosciutto. It was good but the chicken was cut up really fine winto the pasta. I would have prefered a chicken breast on top or on the side.

For dessert we shared 3 of the mini desserts. A fruit square that I think had blueberries and raspberries. The cake was too dense and dry, maybe almond flavoring. The boston creme cake was o.k, but our overall favorite was the lemon cheesecake. It was so good.

The hostess who seated us was part of the college program. She was from our home state and we started talking. Sweet girl.


Kona Cafe dinner

It was really crowded he re.
For the appetizer I ordered the Kona Salad. It was good. Dh ordered the crab cakes. He said they were good, but I didnt like the presentation.

Of course we loved the bread and the flavored butter. Also we had the same server we had once before. She didnt remember us, but she said she has so many customers. Fine with us, I remember she was efficient and she sure was today too.

For the entree dh and I both had the ginger crusted ribeye. He ordered his medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I asked for medium, but alot of it seemed more well done than medium.

For dessert dh ordered the pineapple upside down cake and I ordered my favorite banana creme brule. We both enjoyed these.

Thursday December lst

Well first I have to back up to yesterday. I thought dh had the burger at the GF, but he said he had the reuben with home made chips. That was good too he said, must have been there was nothing left on the plate!

Liberty Tree Tavern lunch

We didnt eat alot here as we had the candelight package later on.

It was really crowded here and they were not taking any walk ups. Felt sorry for the little boy whos family was turned away with no adr. He said, well it sure smells good in here anyway!

Dh had the tri corner and got the soup of the day with it. It was chili and he said ut was excellent. I had the usual pot roast. Dh finished my leftovers. It was really good.

We shared the ooey gooey toffee cake for dessert.


Tutto Italia - Candelight Package Dinner

We had the 6:45 show, so we had to eat at 4:15. A little too early after the lunch.

Appetizers - Dh got the fresh mozzarella and tomatos. He enjoyed it.
I had the eggplant app. Can I just say the appetizer portion here is as big as the regular meal serving that you get at Via Napoli, or just about the same. It was good.

Entree - Dh had the risotto. I told him I didint think he would like it, but he said it was flavored well and there was enough seafood in it.

I had the chicken. I really did not like this at all. It was way too dried out and it was covered in melted mozzarella cheese with a tomato stuffed in it.

Dessert - we both had the Coppa dessert. It was really good. Dh also ordered a double espresso and I had tea (those were not included on the pkg). I think the tea was almost $4.00, wow. Also they kept crossing out the tip amounts or some amount on the check. It was really strange and we had to look at it carefully. On the way out encountered some guy arguing about his cp package time and the manager said he was an hour late etc. We were waiting for our cp badge stickers.I also pick Tutto for its location close to the theater.

I know they are remodeling the place and I hope the food is still great when they reopen.

Friday December 2nd

O.K. I admit it, I woke up and thought of Nicki and Todd and decided to throw the lunch adr out the window. We originally had Coral Reef, (I was good and actually went online and cancelled them but we changed the park around too so dh and I just decided to have breakfast. Cape May was really packed so we opted for the more quiet...

Captains Grille - Breakfast Buffet

Havent been here in a long time. It was decent. I did think the scrambled eggs and bacon tasted a little strange. The bacon seemed to taste more like plastic. I guess I am use to maple flavored bacon etc. Dh had some of the different things like the eggs benedict etc. I loved the Mickey waffles, the strawberries were so fresh and juicy and the melon was pretty good. I also had a mini muffin I think.

It was quiet and even the few kids there were really well behaved.


Rose and Crown dinner

This was new to us. When we were checking in who do we run into but Diser Ray Sharpton, he was solo and we all ended up sharing a table. It was great conversation and a nice evening.

Appetizers - Dh had the scotch egg. This did not look appetizing to me at all. He said it was good. I had the potato and leek soup. It was o.k. I liked the potato soup I had last year at The Plaza much better.

Entrees - Ray had the sunday roast and said it was good. Dh had the bangers and mash. Again, this did not look appetizing to me. I had the fish and sunday roast combo. I didnt like the cheese sauce on top of the meat. The fish was really good and I think it had mashed potatos and green beans. I gave my yorkshire pudding to dh to try. It was different for sure.

Dessert - I had trifle. It was o.k. It was just not made the way I am use to having it. Dh had the toffee pudding and said he liked the one at LTT much better. Our server was really sweet.

Sat. December 3rd

Our original plan was to do yak and yeti lunch (but I already cancelled that yest.) and Chefs de France dinner. But I got online and saw that we could get a chefs lunch for 12:20 so we grabbed it.

Chefs de France - lunch. Havent eaten lunch here before but we always do manage to do a dinner.

It was so busy that they were not taking any walk ups. One guy was really not happy about this and pretty vocal. He stormed off.

We both decided on the 3 course lunch.

Appetizer - we both had the lobster bisque soup and it was really good.

Main course - Dh had the ham and cheese sand. It came with a salad and I had the quiche. It was served piping hot with the salad too. It was really good.

Dessert - dh had the creme brule and I had the creme puffs. Really good.

This is one of our favorite oplaces and as an added bonus we got to see Remy! The 2 little girls next to us were just so well behaved. I wanted to tell their mom that but she would probably think I was crazy.

Cosmic Rays dinner

I know it was our only counter service of the week. I really dont mind counter service. but I do have to say the bun was really hard for me to swallow. I already have swallowing issues due to my cancer. The burger was really good though and I dont swallow fries well either so dh got me grapes. They were good.

Snacks

Didnt really have too many of these

Beverly Sweets at DHS. Dh asked if they had carmel apples with pecans, my favorite. They said no, but would make one specially for me. So dh ordered it and we picked it up after our dinner. The cm told dh, oh I didnt think you were coming back. Dh got the candy apple. Both were really good

Storybook sweets at MK - I had the swirl ice cream. It was huge and really good. Dh also got some toasted almonds from around the area. I think I would break a tooth on those.

Gingerbread House at the Beach Club - we bought the little Mickey Head decorated cookie. We both were not that thrilled with it. Glad we only got one.

Boardwalk Bakery and Seashore Sweets - dh and I shared the toffee slab. Oh my goodness!! Pure heaven!! Also got a green cupcake. Didnt know it was mint flavored icing, but dh had this and said it was good. Mickey cake. Bought this home for the ds and he liked it.

Final Thoughts

Dh thought the food quality improved. I think it was about the same.

I dont think I am in a rush to get back to Le Cellier and Rose and Crown.
Cant wait to see Tutto's new menu.

We didint "no show" but cancelled the adrs we were not going to use.

I dont know if we will like this cc guarantee idea. There are a few places we want to book in May. But I will be choosing carefully. Maybe 2 of those.

All in all we had a good experience with disney dining.
