Wonderful wonderful TR.. I just sat here and read the whole thing. Good thing all the kids are in school! LOL! I can't wait for dh to come home and ask.. what the heck did you do all day?
Denise, you are so very sweet!! Thank you for reading and for being excited for us every step of the way. It helps alleviate the sadness of it all being over that I have trips like yours to look forward to in the near future. It really does help us to relive our own trips when we read the TRs of others. You are correct: there is no place like home. But if you have to spend time away from home, we all know where is the best place to do it!!!Oh Amy thank you for doing such a great job on your TR. I loved every minute of it. The pictures were perfect and the notes about what was going on each day are priceless. I hope I have half a chance at doing as well as you and Heather have done.![]()
Mike has said that he would pay a hundred dollars for the chance for Karlyn to play with the Dolphins and get to feed them when we go to Sea World. I'll tell him that we can now save a little money 'cause it's practically free! I'm sure he will buy all the fish he can for the kids!![]()
I know just how Clay felt when he kissed the car! There have been times when I have returned home that I cried when the plane flew into the Salt Lake Valley and I knew I was home! Because we live right along the flight path to the SLC Airport, I frequently can pick out the house when we fly over it and that makes me cry even more. I am sure the people around me think I have lost my mind. Dorothy was right. There's no place like HOME!
Thanks again for sharing your wonderful, cute family. They are great. That's probably because they have such a great MOM!![]()
Denise
Awww!! I am so glad you stuck with me through it all!! I feel like we've become good friends, too! So...if we ever get together, we'll know not to go out for sushi and then to a shark aquarium afterwards, right?? And you'll recognize me by my hick-talk!! In a few years you are going to have before and after pics of your kids all grown up!! It's so sad to imagine it, isn't it? Where does the time go? That's why I think it's important to have lots of pics!!I love the video with Minnie and Mickey. Most of all I loved your cute southern accent! "Y'all"
I'm such a sap. Your "then and now" pics got me all teary-eyed.
I can see why those are some of your favorite pictures. They're absolutely perfect!
You got some AWESOME castle pictures!
We saw the "Jesus Loves You" writing a few times while we were there, too!
I SO share your feelings about sharks! Although, I am really terrified of them. So, I may be a little more over-the-top than you!
I'm also with you on sushi. So funny that Clay called the little dead fish sushi!
Okay, now I'm crying again with the last picture of Clay and you saying his wish was fulfilled. *sigh*
What a wonderful trip report, Amy! I loved reading it and becoming friends with you along the way!![]()
It has been fun, Heather! My camera frustrates me!! I really love it, but the only thing about it is that the flash doesn't always go off when I want it to, and when it doesn't, the pics turn out grainy. So infuriating!! But otherwise, yes, I do love it. We actually used two. The other one was a wide-angle lens camera. Both are Canons. I have to confess that I was jealous of your SeaWorld day! You took it easy there and really saw the stuff there is to see. We just had to rush through, and I think SeaWorld is deserving of a full day instead of a rush job. I almost felt like we were unjust to the animals or something!! I have this thing about always trying to mix a little nature in with our man-made vacations. I know--I'm weird.Amy , Thanks so much for finishing your trip report.I have loved taking this journey with you.It has been so much fun comparing notes! By the way, I just love your sea world pictures. You must have a rockin camera because my pengin pics look horrible next to yours!Loved the ending pics.I can so relate to the pictures, you are sad to leave GKTW but at the same time so happy to be home.I hope you stick around the boards, I will be looking for you!
I just always hop up really fast right before he gets home! I learned that trick from my mom!!! LOL! Thank you so much for being a reader here!!Wonderful wonderful TR.. I just sat here and read the whole thing. Good thing all the kids are in school! LOL! I can't wait for dh to come home and ask.. what the heck did you do all day?
LOL! I can tell you and Heather are sisters because you both commented on my orange-in-the-mouth pic!! I'm glad you could relate! I'm also glad you understand why I was lost as a goose when I looked back at my World Showcase pics!!I noticed right off that your Wendy was the same as Heather's Wendy. Uggh, if that's the only face she ever makes, WHY is she still doing this??
What you said about "It's a Small World" had me laughing so hard!!! "How can you go to Disney and not ride IASW? Next time I'm going to find out!!!!
Fred Jones, who knew?? Oh that had me crying!!! What a wonderful thing for you guys!
I SO agree about pictures!!! If you don't have people (that you know) in them, why bother?? You are absolutely right!
We haven't been to Universal since Corey liked Barney! He was so mad at us that we made him go on the Jaws ride (do they still have that?) He kept reminding us how scared he was of that ride for about a year! Back then it seemed like the only "rides" they had there were the sit down in a shaky seat and watch a movie rides! (We have been to IOA a few times since then though).
I love the picture with the oranges in your mouth!!! That so looks like something I'd do! Actually, I have pictures of myself doing that, but it was with the orange jelly candies!
I love Madison's picture with that guy in the Test Track line! I can't imagine why she wouldn't let you ask him to turn around!
Stupid rude Photopass guy with Snow White!!! I don't get all the rude CMs! We had them too! And I didn't see too many rude guests, so it was really uncalled for! Even if there WERE rude guests, it is their job to be cheery!
I love that you have no clue which country you were taking a picture of in half your pictures!!! I am the same way!!!
Yes, the Eifel Tower IS a strong clue that you are in France!!
Good girl Madison smiling for the pictures!! I try to tell peole that hiding from the camera makes you look so much dumber than just standing there and smiling!
We loved the Stepsister and stepmother too!
The picture of the twins fighting over the pen made me laugh!
Yes, Ty looks VERY tough with his gun!
Those sharks at Sea World are freaky!
That Shamu plane is so cool!
FANTASTIC picture of the back of your head!!!!
EVerybody stop picking on Shay Lynne! Poor little girl.
Clay kissing the Yukon is too funny!
Awww, I'm so sad that it's over!!! Thank you Amy for writing this!!!
I'm so glad you get to go in January!! I would LOVE to go some time when it's not hot or crowded. I just might do that soon. I have loved meeting all of you as well, and I hope to continue to see you all around on the DISboards. I think Shay Lynne's Minnie dot skirt looks SO cute in the pics!I can't beleive it's over!![]()
I always start thinking about next time before we even get on the plane to go home.
We just bought our air tickets for January so I've got that to get me through the next few months!![]()
I loved meeting your family. I'm so glad you guys had such a great trip.
I don't know if anyone believed me about how many pics we took, but I wasn't kidding! I am FINALLY through posting them, so thank you for indulging me!! It's nice to have all my faves right in one spot--that's the great thing about TRs! Now that I'm finished with mine, I get to start catching up on the ones all my new friends are writing.Amy, I love all the pictures!!! Thanks for sharing them with us!
I wondered if anyone would notice the residual lipstick!! Some of my favorite pics are of Clay's kisses on that trip! And the one with Aerial, where he looks like he was trying to back away from her kiss. That cracks me up, too! When I show him those pics, he still gets this really embarrassed smile on his face--it's hilar!!I loved your TR and photos. I thought the one where Clay tried to rub the kisses off, but it didn't work! You could still see them in his pictures with Goofy!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Aww, thank you!! You're so sweet. Three pics, huh? That's funny that you call that "pre-dis"! That's exactly how I feel about my two previous trips. I did no planning whatsoever, had no idea what rides were even there or ANYTHING. I can't believe we did that!! No wonder we didn't get much done! We hardly even took many pics--what was I thinking??? Thank you for reading along to hear about all our fun adventures.OMgoodness they were great photopass pics. We got three pics....three. And I thought that was good!Of course that was pre-dis sort of. I had no idea people got lots of them....and yours came out so wonderfully. Just amazing! And they really captured the moments at each park!
I loved your trip...I am grinning ear to ear! Thank you so much for taking us along thru your report and pics. You did a fabulous job!![]()
Thank you, Robin. You are so correct--it is a TON of work!! I never imagined how much!! But I will say that now that it's all said and done, I am so thankful to have this record of everything that happened. In fact, Amber got me all excited about blogging, so I ended up pasting my whole TR into my family blog. It's a better place to refer friends and family because they won't have to sort through all the comments this way. I have loved reading your TR, and I understand that it just takes a while!!I love all your pictures. Great trip report. The photopass pictures are awsome.I am still working on my TR. Boy is it a lot of work.
Thank you! I do treasure so many of the pics we had made on the trip. It truly was the trip of a lifetime.I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the photopass pictures.Ther really captures some great moments. Some of them with Clay almost made me cry.I just love all the disney magic.![]()
