We're not decorating this year, anyone else?

I bought a commode set that turns the toliet into a chimney -- and the mat that goes around the toliet has Santa's boot prints on it.

(And my kids are 17 and 20! :rotfl: )

Oh my! I had to google that and here it is:

I'm pregnant and due the middle or end of January so I mainly don't want to fool with taking it all down after Christmas. Plus, this year I can't drag the boxes up the stairs by myself and this is DH's super, super busy time of year and I hate to nag him to help me when he's barely getting home by 9pm as it is.

I love seeing the decorations up, but hate putting them up and taking them down. Much like I loved being at WDW recently, but hated the drive there and back. ;)

I was about 5 or 6 weeks pregnant with my twins during X-mas of 1999. I had horribe morning sickness. NOTHING stayed down. I was in and out of the hospital for dehydration, but I had two small kids already and they needed a tree and decorations, so I did it for them.

When it came time to open gifts on X-mas Eve, I spent most of it in the bathroom, and stayed home sick while they went to the in-laws on X-mas morning. Then after X-mas, I took down the decorations with one hand while holding a barf bucket in the other. If I can get through that nightmare Christmas I can get through anything. And we will always have decorations even if I'm not in the mood. Just what you do for your little rugrats I guess. :goodvibes

We have the tree up & a couple decorations around the family room, but that's it this year. We've decided to skip the outdoor decor completely--we wouldn't be able to put anything up until DH had the time to trim trees & such. We're out of time though--everything's been going non-stop until after Christmas for us & the weekends have been even worse.

Is it just me or does it seem like the holidays come faster & faster every year? I can't keep up anymore!

I just did the minimum - no help so I decided to have a Disney tree! Added new ornaments this year but still need to add more

I'm too busy to decorate too. Plus dad & I are going to VA for Christmas, then he leaves on Jan. 2nd to spend 3 months in Florida. So no decorations here. But I think I'll do it next year. We're going to VA for Thanksgiving, so I plan to decorate in early Dec., then we'll take it down on New Year's.

I am moving out of my flat on Saturday, and won't be moving back home to CA until after Christmas, so I probably won't be decorating much, if at all. I am spending Christmas in Scotland with my best friend, but don't arrive until the night of the 21st, so not sure if we are going to put much effort into buying decorations and actually putting them up.

We have the fake pre-lit tree (best invention ever) put up, and that's about it. It's only decorated from about the halfway mark to the tip-top. My puppies have decided the best part of the Holidays is ripping the garland off the tree and shredding it into tinsel on the kitchen floor.

I realized today that I've got the Christmas spirit of the Grinch, so Friday has been set aside as Christmaspalooza and the house is getting decorated....but only in locations that the puppies can't reach. I've seen some very festive samples in the yard- they need to kick the garland habit. :rolleyes1

My dad passed away on November 26th. Too much sadness. He lived in El Paso, so for the past 10 years we've gone there for Christmas. This year the kids will be with their dad in San Diego, so I can't see putting up the tree for just me.

Next year I'll go all out, though.

We weren't going to do much, but ended up getting the biggest tree we have ever had and another tree for DD. Realized after putting all her ornaments on her tree, that her decorations made up the vast part of our total family collection. So we have this huge tree and sparse decorations. LOL! So, I put more and more lights on, so you don't notice the lack of alot of ornaments. There are 800 lights on the tree. Yippee!
However, presents are another story altogether. I am having the hardest time figuring out what to get people. DD is taken care of except one item and I am going this week to get that. DH is also taken care of. Other than that, I still have ALL of the shopping to do. Hard to get motivated.
