We are back from the parks and our 4 day Wonder Cruise. I tried real hard to keep my trip report live but was having so much fun I got behind. I will try to get it caught up over the next few days.

First thing to report is we are now DVC members We bought onboard with the discount. We knew going down we were leaning towards buying so it was just a matter of price and details.

As for the magic of the Podcast Tshirt. I hadn't met any disr's on the ship yet and figured I wouldn't since it was getting late into the cruise. Peter the cruise director had said the ship was heavily favored by 1st time cruisers so I just assumed many didn't know about the boards or were not that active on them. I put the shirt on the morning of Castaway Cay and within minutes I had people approaching me, asking who I was, what the podcast was all about as they had heard of it etc. DH was stunned at how many approached us and how many knew me via my posts here on the boards I think I met about 10 disr's with the shirt and at least 5 people said they would check out the boards when they got home. I just thought that was really cool.

So wear those shirts with pride. You will make new friends.

I would concur with that. I didn't get too many comments on my shirt- I wore it on castaway cay as well, but I mostly did the parasailing and slept in a hammock while I was there. But I met several people who noticed my lanyard and where DIS members.

Kelly ~ Did you buy AKV or BLT? Also, were there special incentives offered for buying during the cruise? It seems like I've been contemplating an add-on forever now and was all set to buy AKV...but now I'm thinking I'll go with BLT but want to wait a few more months.

I'm glad you had so much interaction with other DISers while wearing your DIS Unplugged shirt -- I've never been that fortunate, but haven't given up trying!

JC - We turned our phones off per the instructions here on the boards and it worked perfectly. We still used the Ipod function and it was great to have all my cruise notes stored on the phone so when I wanted to look something up it was right there available to me.

We bought BLT. We knew that there would never be a problem renting or selling at this location. Onboard we were able to get the current DVC owners price at $107 per point versus the $112, they give you a virtual Disney gift card for $1000 which of course is applied to the price and there was a $500 shipboard credit which covered our tips, drinks and shopping. We had rebooked our 09 cruise onboard before we talked to DVC and they wordked with us to move the reservation to DVC using points. Overall we were very happy with the deal we received and the way everything was handled.
